Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Ganesh Mahotsav or Ganesh Chaturthi is a significant Indian festival that is celebrated with grand festivities across the country, especially in Maharashtra. The festival marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, the deity known to be worshipped foremost by any other Gods. Lord Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is resembled by a large elephant head that symbolises understanding and wisdom and a big belly that represents generosity and acceptance. This year, Ganpati Mahotsav will be celebrated on September 19 and Ganesh Visarjan will be observed on 28 September, 2023.
Apart from welcoming large Ganpati idols to home, carrying Lord Ganesha processions, cultural events, dancing on drum beats, and enjoying delicacies, people also visit Ganpati Bappa temples to seek his blessings for a healthy and prosperous life. Here is a list of famous Lord Ganesha temples in Delhi-NCR that you should visit on Ganesh Chaturthi.
1. Shri Subha Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir, Mayur Vihar
Located in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Shri Subha Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir is one of the oldest Lord Ganesha temples in Delhi. It was built in 1990 and the temples look breathtaking at the time of Ganesh Chaturthi and are must-visit temples in Delhi.
2. Sri Vinayaka Temple, Noida

Sri Vinayaka Temple is located on the premises of JSS College, Noida. The temple is built in South Indian style architecture and lets you offer your prayers throughout the day. This temple is one of the oldest South Indian temples in Delhi.
3. Shri Siddhivinayak Temple, Dwarka
Shri Siddhivinayak Temple is located in Dwarka dedicated to Lord Ganesha. You can visit this temple during Ganesh Mahotsav and offer your prayers with complete devotion and joy.
4. Ganesh Temple, Connaught Place
Ganesh Temple is located next to the popular Hanuman Mandir in Delhi’s Connaught Place. The temple was founded on 31 October 1952, by V. Sankar Aiyar and is a must-visit place on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Meanwhile, the Chaturthi tithi will begin at 12:39 PM on Sep 18, 2023 and end at 01:43 PM on Sep 19, 2023. According to Drik Panchang, it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Ganesh Puja is preferred during Madhyanha as it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahna Kala. Madhyahna Kala is equivalent to midday according to the Hindu division of the day.
