The occasion of Guru Purnima holds immense significance and is celebrated on the full moon (Purnima) in the month of Ashadha of the Hind calendar. It is an important festival during which the disciples worship their Gurus. Guru Purnima is also known as ‘Vyaas Purnima’ and the festival commemorates the birth anniversary of Ved Vyasa, the author of the epic Mahabharata.

This year, the special occasion of Guru Purnima will be celebrated on July 03 (Monday) across the country. According to Drik Panchang, the Purnima tithi will begin at 04:51 PM on July 02 and will end at 01: 38 PM on July 03, 2023.

Guru Purnima or Vyaas Purnima is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary author of Mahabharata, Ved Vyas.
