New Delhi | Jagran Lifestyle Desk: Hanuman Jayanti or Janamotssava is a Hindu religious festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman-- an ardent devotee of Ram. He is one of the central characters in epic Ramayana. The festival is celebrated on different days in various parts of the country. While some celebrate it in Chaitra, others observe Hanuman Jayanti in Vaishaka-- in Kerela and Tamil Nadu.
On this auspicious day, ardent devotees of Lord Hanuman observe fast, visit temples, read scriptures, Hanuman Chalisa and worship him and present religious offerings. It is believed that worshipping the god provides us inner strength and helps us gain victory over evil.
