Happy Kisan Diwas 2023: Today, December 23, people from all across India are celebrating this special day. This day is significant for recognizing and honoring the important role that farmers play in maintaining society as a whole. Also in 2001, the government of India announced December 23 as National Farmers Day, which was Chaudhary Charan Singh's birth anniversary. He was born on December 23, 1902, and was the 5th Prime Minister of India.
In developing the agricultural plan and responding to the demands of the farming community, Chaudhary Charan Singh was a key figure. During his 1979–1980 term as prime minister, he focused on reforming agriculture and provided assistance to small and marginal farmers.

Chaudhary Charan Singh fought for the welfare of farmers, stressing the importance of just prices for crops and a fair distribution of resources. His presidency put policies in place to improve irrigation systems and cancel loans in order to lessen hardship in rural areas.
