VISHU is often referred to as the Malayalam New Year. Today, people are celebrating Vishu, which is on April 15, 2023. People from Kerala, in particular, celebrate these days not just in India but all around the nation with plenty of love and happiness, delicious cuisine, music, dancing, and a lot of pomp and circumstance. The Malayalam calendar's first day of the month of Medam is observed as Vishu in Kerala as well.

The festival's true meaning, Vishu, is associated with the hope for a brighter tomorrow and the promise of a fruitful future. The new year is also celebrated in other states, such as West Bengal and Assam, which observe Poila Baisakh, and Punjab and Haryana, which observe Baisakhi. Tamil Nadu celebrates Puthandu.

Similar to how Malayalis celebrate all of these festivals, they all decorate various auspicious objects, particularly in their homes, prepare delectable meals, and engage in a variety of other fascinating activities. They enjoy Sadhya, a buffet of homemade traditional foods, to commemorate the day. On this day, the elders also give the kids pocket money.
