1. Bathing Immediately After Breakfast

One of the most unhealthy habits that the majority of us practise is bathing immediately after consuming our breakfast meal. According to Dr Yogendra, when you take a bath after eating your breakfast, your digestive fire gets weakened. In Ayurveda, the digestive fire is known as ‘Jatharagni’, and loss of digestive fire will slow down the digestion process and weaken your system.

2. Late Breakfast

Another practice that is hazardous to our overall health is eating late breakfast. According to Dr Yogendra, breakfast should be consumed within 2 hours of waking up. One must eat breakfast before 9 AM as when you wake up, your body needs water and food because of overnight fasting. Therefore, consuming an early breakfast can potentially reduce the stress of the body, while a late breakfast puts the body under more pressure. It is important to understand that the gap between breakfast and dinner should be a minimum of 12 hours.

3. Skipping Breakfast

With a hectic schedule, most of us usually skip our breakfast to complete other daily chores. Some people do not feel hungry in the early hours of the day, which is why they prefer skipping breakfast meals. Not consuming breakfast can affect the blood sugar levels of the individual, lead to a drop in blood sugar levels and will affect your mood throughout the day. Many studies show that skipping breakfast can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure and many other illnesses.

4. Eating Little

When we are in a hurry, we usually eat little amounts of food in the morning. Eating too little can deprive the body of essential nutrients which it needs in a day to function properly. This can further lead to feelings of tiredness, fatigue and other uncomfortable feelings. This is why health experts suggest consuming a breakfast like a king to replenish the body with vital nutrients.
