On Sunday night, light snow fell in Kaza and surrounding areas, putting a light white cover over some of the valleys and slopes. Locals commented that September snowfall is uncommon for Kaza; they typically experience snowfall in October-November. The fresh snowfall has again excited tourists to get back to Kaza for the winter. The Buddhist monasteries and Key-Gompa, associated with nearby sites of tourism and surrounding areas are now stunningly, beautifully white and snowy. Tourists were walking and taking pictures and Kaza hoteliers were hopeful, happy and lighting up at the influx of tourists. Kaza is likely to be known as a winter tourism hub and an experience that tourists will not forget.

Why Is Kaza So Famous?
Kaza is the main spot or heart of Spiti Valley and serves as the base of exploration in winter. Kaza in wintertime is a quiet place: a small town that is surrounded by snowy mountains; no wonder everyone goes there. Kaza, however small, provides access, comfort and local culture. It has real cosy homestays with cooked meals and heated rooms.
