Wet Hair Mistakes: Every woman dreams of having long, shiny and healthy hair with a desire to flaunt it. However, the increased pollution and overuse of chemical treatment have made it a far-fetched dream. Besides, women commit several silly mistakes without realisation that can create havoc, further destroying the quality and health of the strands. One of the practices, like washing the hair, might feel like a simple, everyday task, but taking care of the hair post-shower plays a major role in the hair’s health. Wet hair is fragile with its cuticle swollen, the strands being elastic and are most vulnerable to breakage, split ends and frizz. Wet hair requires more care, but people generally do the opposite. Most people make some common mistakes during this time, thinking that they are harmless.
People who are struggling with hair fall, dullness or rough texture, despite using quality haircare products, the wet hair damage might be the main reason. Identifying the wet hair mistakes can help to protect the hair’s natural strength and shine. From detangling wet hair to tying wet hair, these wet hair mistakes can damage the hair’s health over time.
How To Protect Wet Hair From Damage
Detangling Wet Hair
This is one of the main reasons that can cause hair breakage, as the hair follicles are sensitive enough post-shower. The right choice is to detangle the hair before entering the shower. This makes the hair not susceptible to any damage. Also, after brushing, if you feel the locks are too dry and brittle to touch, use a hint of serum or oil and run the comb easily, making the process simple and more convenient under the shower.

Aggressive Combing
Women should never brush their wet hair and even if they do so, stop aggressive combing and try to use a leave-in conditioner before. Be gentle while combing and always start from the end, and then work your way up. Also, create sections first and then brush the hair with your hand to make the process easier. Understanding that hair is a strand of keratin that behaves like fabric. This bond is at its weakest when it's wet, making it prone to breakage.

Tying Wet Hair
Hair is at its weakest and most vulnerable when they are wet. Although it may be tempting to tie them into a ponytail or a small bun. But this practice must be stopped. When you tie your wet hair, the tension increases the moment it dries, making it impossible to untie without creating knots, avoiding grease and getting a certain shape.
Blow Dry Wet Hair
It is a common practice to blow-dry wet hair, but this practice must be stopped immediately if doing so. Wait for the water to drip out first and then put the dryer on medium heat. Next, move on to a higher level and style the hair just the way you like it. This method is simple and will prevent the strands from getting tangled.

Thus, if you wish to wash your hair at night, draw out the excess water and always with the help of a microfibre towel. You can blow-dry the strands on medium heat and enjoy waking up to a fresh and voluminous look.
