Adopting preventive steps to reduce symptoms is important to handle chronic tonsil and sinus health in the winter. Staying hydrated is important for maintaining mucous membrane moisture because the cold, dry air can exacerbate sinus problems. Nasal sprays with saline extractors ease nasal airways and lessen congestion. A different method to feel better is to inhale steam, maybe from a warm shower. Honey-infused warm teas can help reduce sore throats brought on by tonsil problems.
Respiratory health advantages come from maintaining a tidy home, which includes routine dusting and avoiding allergies. It's important to wear warm clothing to avoid being exposed to extremely cold temperatures.

According to Dr. Manusrut, "Winters can be difficult for patients suffering from chronic sinusitis. The change in weather and environment can trigger allergies in such patients. This can cause nasal congestion, nadal discharge, sneezing, nose block, headaches, etc."
An Increase In These Symptoms Can Be Prevented By Taking The Following Simple Steps:
1. Wearing a mask when outside homes.
2. Maintaining nasal hygiene with Nasal Wash. This can be done using nasal wash kits available in pharmacies or using a glass of lukewarm water with a spoonful of salt. The solution is pumped into the nostril with a 20-cc syringe or a Neti pot. The nasal wash has been adapted from the ritual of Jal Neti as described in Ayurveda and Yoga.
3. Patients prone to seasonal allergies can start intranasal steroid sprays prophylactically before the season sets in to avoid flare-ups. This should be done in consultation with your ENT doctor.

In addition, he said, "Allergies in winters can also increase throat infections, especially in individuals with enlarged tonsils, also known medically as chronic tonsillitis." They should maintain good oral hygiene by using betadine or chlorhexidine mouth washes."
At last, Dr. Manusrut said, "This can be done daily, at least to prevent bacterial infections. You should also avoid very cold liquids or any food that can cause allergies."
