Milk, used daily in millions of Indian households is often contaminated with harmful additives like water, detergent and urea. This can lead to severe health issues, especially among children and the elderly. Impure milk can lead to digestive issues, allergies, vomiting and long-term health problems. Thus, testing milk purity is crucial to ensure safety and overall well-being.

Simple Milk Detection Tests At Home

Milk Water Test

Place a small milk sample on a plain surface. If it flows slowly, maintaining its shape, it's likely pure. However, if it spreads quickly and thinly, water has likely been added with milk. Thus, it is one of the easiest ways to check the purity of milk.

Milk Detergent Test

Detect detergent in milk with a simple shake test. Mix equal parts milk and water in a bottle. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. If a dense, frothy lather forms and persists, then it has detergent. Pure milk will produce minimal foam that quickly dissipates.
