Reckitt Clarifies Claims

“We have come across a podcast featuring a self-proclaimed dermatologist targeting Dettol Antiseptic Liquid (ASL). The claims made by this individual are completely incorrect, baseless, mischievous, and unscientific. This podcast appears to have been aired with the clear intent to tarnish the reputation of Dettol, a household name,” the company Reckitt Benckiser India said in an official statement.

"Dettol is an iconic product that has been sold globally for over 90 years for first aid, wound cleansing, and other uses. The Company reassures its consumers that all Dettol products meet stringent safety standards for use on the skin. We caution our valued consumers not to pay heed to such motivated and agenda-driven views from so-called dermatologists. The Company is in the process of initiating appropriate action against these claims," they added.

Further, the brand supported their argument while adding that, Dettol Antiseptic Liquid (ASL) is an FDA-approved drug endorsed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) for its efficacy in killing germs and preventing sepsis. The company assures consumers of its safety and effectiveness, citing government approval and medical backing.
