Jogging vs Walking: Walking and jogging are both effective forms of exercise for weight loss, but their effectiveness can vary depending on factors such as intensity, duration, and individual preferences. While walking is a low-intensity workout, jogging can use more energy from your body. For older people, walking can be a better form of exercise for weight loss, while for youngsters jogging can be a better option. In a conversation with Jagran English, Dr. Sri Karan Uddesh Tanugula, Consultant General Physician, Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad explained whether walking or jogging is better for weight loss.

Jogging typically burns more calories per minute compared to walking due to its higher intensity. According to a study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, a person weighing 155 pounds can burn approximately 298 calories per 30 minutes of jogging at a moderate pace, while walking at a brisk pace may burn around 167 calories in the same timeframe.
