Tips To Maintain Healthy Hair During Monsoon

1. Chose Right Comb

One of the integral parts of a haircare routine is choosing the right comb to take care of your hair in the monsoon. The right kind of brush or comb is the one that reaches your scalp smoothly while detangling your hair from the roots to the tips. Using the right comb is important for maintaining hair quality and texture.

2. Shampoo And Conditioner

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the main purpose of shampoo is to remove dirt and oil from the surface of the hair fibres and the scalp, while the main purpose of conditioner is to ensure that the hair is smooth for combing. You can use a nourishing hair mask, shampoo and conditioner to retain the moisture, shine and health of hair in monsoons.

3. Healthy Diet

When it comes to healthy and strong hair, a healthy diet plays an integral role. Healthline states that some of the best foods for hair growth are foods that have high nutritional value like eggs, leafy greens, and fatty fish. You should include food rich in vitamins, proteins, fibres, minerals and other essential nutrients to take care of your hair.

4. Oiling

Oiling is another important part of any hair care regimen. According to Healthline, oils play an important role in protecting hair from regular wear and tear. Oiling hair regularly reduces the swelling and drying of hair. Oils protect the follicle from surfactants by filling the gap between cuticle cells. You can include a hot oil massage once a week during monsoon to promote blood circulation through the hair follicles and boost hair health.

5. Keep Your Scalp Clean

Keeping your scalp clean and healthy forms the basis of strong and shiny hair. When the scalp remains dirty for several days, it can lead to the build-up of dirt, germs, bacteria, and excess oil, which can further result in a range of haircare problems. During monsoon, the longer the rainwater, humidity and sweat remain in touch with your hair, the more prone they become to damage.
