The world's largest citizen scientific initiative that counts wild birds in the United States is called National Birds Day, which is observed on Christmas Bird Count Day.

Since 2002, the annual Christmas Bird Count coincides with nationwide Birds Day in America which is a nationwide celebration where people come together to learn more about the status and quality of the country's bird population.
