New Delhi | Jagran Lifestyle Desk: Navratri or Durga Puja is a nine-night festival in which goddess Durga is worshipped in her nine forms. The auspicious festival is celebrated once a year during the month of September or October as per Gregorian calendar. The food made during this time contains low spices and high in fibre and nutrients.

Here are some yummy dishes that you can eat during Navratri:

Doodh Pak

Ingredients: Cow milk, rice, sugar, condensed milk, ground cardamom, ghee, pistachios and almonds.

Procedure: Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan till it gets one fourth. Soak rice in water for 10-15 minutes and make a smooth paste. Add rice to milk and cook for another 10 minutes. Now add sugar, condensed milk and ground cardamom. Keep stirring for 15 minutes. Once it gets thick, allow it to cool and then refrigerate for an hour.

Roast Almonds in ghee till it gets brown. Take out the above dudh pak from refrigerator and add sliced almonds and pistachios while serving the dish.

Sabudana Khichdi

Ingredients: Sabudana, chilli, raw peanuts and cashews, curry leaves, himalayan salt and lemon juice.

Procedure: Soak sabudana overnight, rinse it with water. Now, heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and let it fry for a few seconds. Add chopped potatoes and cook for around 3 minutes. Repeat it by adding peanuts and cashews. Add curry leaves and cook for another minute. Mix it with drained sabudana with Himalayan salt. Cook for a few minutes and add lemon juice. Serve it with Raita.

Phalhari Kacche Kele Ki Tikki

Ingredients: For this, you need raw bananas, potatoes, tapioca flour, red chilli powder, dried mint leaves, himalayan salt and three teaspoons of oil.

Procedure: Cook banana and potato in a pressure cooker for ten minutes ( at least 3 whistles) with peels on. Once they get soft, peel the potatoes and banana. Give them desired shape with your hands. Add spices and cook it for 8-10 minutes.
