Rajiv Gandhi Birth Anniversary: Every year, August 20 marks the birth anniversary of one of the biggest political leaders and former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. From 1984 to 1989, Rajiv Gandhi led India as prime minister, taking over from his mother, Indira Gandhi. During his tenure, he tackled regional disputes and modernised India's technology and telecommunications sectors and was well-known for advocating for scientific improvement and economic liberalisation in India. Although he tried to liberalise the economy, his tenure was also criticised for being incompetent and corrupt.
