Skincare Tips: Every season has different weather conditions that affect every skin type in various ways. During the monsoon season, the skin gets more prone to acne, scars, increased oil secretion, pimples and other skincare problems. It is grinding to find the perfect product for your skin that suits the skin type and skincare problems aptly. But interestingly, there are a diverse number of natural ingredients in your kitchen that can be suitable for your skin and will help you tackle your skincare woes easily at home. Here’s a list of some ingredients that you must add to your beauty routine for a glowing and radiant skin at home.

1. Banana Face Pack

Bananas are a versatile food that not only benefits health but also adds glow to the skin. Banana is a great source of antioxidants that reduce skin inflammation and keep the skin hydrated and plum.

To make a banana face pack, take one ripe banana, one teaspoon of honey and lemon juice and a towel. Now take all ingredients and blend them in a blender to form a smooth mixture. To make sure your face is clean, wash it with a mild cleanser and pat dry with a towel. Apply the banana face mask onto your face evenly and leave for about 15 minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel. You can try this face mask twice a week to see the difference.

2. Baking Soda

Baking soda is known as a natural antiseptic induced with antibacterial properties that reduce and eliminate bacteria over the skin when applied topically. The anti-inflammatory properties of baking soda soothe skin rashes and promote healthy skin.

To use baking soda for glowing and radiant skin, you need to mix one tablespoon of baking soda into ½ tablespoon of water and mix it well to form a smooth paste. Now, gently massage the face pack over your face in circular motions. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel. You can try this face pack once or twice a week.

3. Gram Flour

When we talk about kitchen ingredients for skin, gram flour is an ideal substitute for the majority of beauty products. It is the most used ingredient for skin care purposes. It not only treats acne and provides even-tone skin, but also helps in reducing inflammation, prevents dry and flaky skin, removes dirt and facial hair and removes excess oil from the skin.

To prepare besan or gram flour face mask for skin brightening, take two tablespoons of gram flour, four tablespoons of rose water and mix them well. After washing your face, apply the mixture over your face generously and leave to dry for about 10 to 20 minutes. Once the face pack dries, wash your face with warm water and apply moisturiser. You can try this face mask two to three times a week to see the results.

4. Papaya Face Mask

Papaya is a healthy fruit which is abundant in antioxidants that promote skin health. The enzymes, papain and chymopapain in papaya help in reducing inflammation and achieving spotless and healthy skin.

To use papaya for skin, you need one papaya slice, one teaspoon of lemon juice and milk. Take all ingredients and blend together until it forms a smooth paste. Now apply it as a face mask all over your face and leave it to dry for about 20 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel. You can try this face pack once a week.
