Just as everything was starting to fall into place, COVID-19 has released yet another new variation. At the recent International Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, a large number of international leaders stated that the deadly disease X, which is 20 times deadlier than COVID-19, could wreak havoc. The topic of the conversation, which included Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), and a few other leaders and experts, was "Preparing for Disease X." The primary goal of the meeting is also to increase the focus on developing platform technologies, such as medication therapies and vaccines, in order to prepare for the challenging circumstances that lie ahead.

In 2014–2016, after the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, the preparation for this deadly disease X began.Then, after all of that happened, the members of the World Health Organization created a list of diseases like Ebola virus disease,Zika, Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), SARS, Nipah and henipaviral diseases, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, COVID-19, Rift Valley fever, Marburg virus disease, Lassa fever, and the last one, Disease X.

Following that, the objective is to do in-depth research and development (R&D) on ways to prevent the kind of delays that were seen during the Ebola outbreak. Until recently, insufficient prompt intervention had resulted in the deaths of about 11,000 individuals. Finally, under a $3.5 billion plan, all of the researchers at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) are working around the clock on a rapid-response vaccination platform to develop new vaccines within a hundred days of potential pandemic identification.

With so many negative recollections, the COVID-19 pandemic will take a while to fade from memory.
