Do you know that getting a good night's sleep is important for your physical health and mental health? Getting enough and high-quality sleep is necessary for both mental and physical healing. Your body preserves its circadian rhythm when you go to bed early, which helps many physiological functions operate at their best. It facilitates improved immunological system performance, enhances hormone regulation, and aids in efficient memory consolidation.
Also, a regular early sleep schedule enhances mood, mental clarity, and emotional health. A lower risk of chronic illnesses like obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular problems is associated with getting enough sleep.

According to Dr. Dilip, "going to sleep early helps improve sleep hygiene and quality of sleep. It is known to activate the parasympathetic system and help control heart rate and blood pressure. This, in turn, is known to help with cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. Memory, judgment, and cognition are known to improve in those who sleep early. Depression, anxiety, and various mood disorders have a lesser incidence in early-to-bed people. The overall happiness index is better in these people."

In addition, he said, "Fatigue, tiredness, etc. are lesser, and in fact, overall, this subset is known to be more energetic than those who go to bed late. The immune system gets a boost when people go to bed earlier, and overweight people struggling to lose weight may benefit from sleeping early. Adequate sleep is known to have its own anti-aging benefits, and hence, confidence in having attractive looks is another benefit of sleeping early. The early-to-bed concept also prevents accidents the next day, owing to better and sharper judgment from good sleep. Overall, one can be more productive with loads of sleep, which is possible only by hitting the bed early. Some disorders like cancer and Alzheimer's disease are known to occur in those with bad sleep hygiene."

At last, Dr. Dilip said, "Chronic inflammatory diseases such as autoimmune/rheumatoid arthritis and various pain syndromes like chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, migraine, etc. also flare up with inadequate sleep. Acid-peptic diseases and irritable bowel syndrome also tend to worsen with a lack of good sleep habits. Postural instability and balance also improve with sleep. Repair of tissues from stress,UV rays, etc. happens during sleep, and this may adversely be affected in cases of deprived sleep. Going to bed early means rising early, and this gives one a lot of self-time or me-time. This helps one reflect and may improve productivity and confidence."
