World Sanskrit Diwas 2023: Sanskrit is known as Sanskrit Diwas or Sanskrit Day. This special day is an annual celebration of the ancient language of India. According to the Hindu calendar, it is observed on Shravana Purnima, the day of the full moon in the Shravana month. The Gregorian calendar's Shravana month often falls between July and August. The date for Sanskrit Day in 2023 is August 31.

The goal of celebrating the Sanskrit Diwas which is the ancient Indian language is to encourage its preservation and restoration. The second official language of Uttarakhand has been designated as Sanskrit. With 102 Arab 78 crore 50 lakh words, Sanskrit has the greatest vocabulary.
