Glowing skin is not just a symbol of beauty but also a reflection of good health. Everyone desires clear, soft and radiant skin but increasing pollution, unhealthy lifestyle habits and stress often take a toll on skin health, leading to issues like dullness, acne, and premature ageing. Furthermore, poor diet, inadequate hydration and insufficient sleep can also negatively impact skin texture and appearance. As a result, achieving and maintaining healthy, glowing skin requires a holistic approach that incorporates a balanced lifestyle, proper skincare routine and stress management techniques.

In a conversation with The Daily Jagran, Dr. Amit Bangia, Associate Director of the Department of Dermatology at Asian Hospital shared five effective and practical tips to boost skin glow.

Tips To Boost Skin Glow

Hydration Is The Key

The most basic requirement for healthy skin is water. When the body is dehydrated, the skin appears dull and dry. One should aim to drink at least 8–10 glasses of water daily.

Eat Right For Inner Radiance

According to Dr. Bangia, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds can work wonders for the skin. Antioxidants and vitamin C-rich foods help repair skin cells and enhance the natural glow.

Prioritise Sleep

Nighttime is when the skin undergoes repair. A minimum of 7–8 hours of quality sleep is essential. Your skin will only glow when it has had enough time to regenerate itself.

Use Sunscreen Regularly

Dr. Bangia emphasises the importance of sun protection. UV rays from sunlight can darken the skin, make it dry, and accelerate ageing. Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and apply it at least 20 minutes before stepping outdoors.
