Best Selling SUVs In April 2024: The Indian automobile industry has seen a significant rise in the demand of SUVs in the country. Indian buyers prefer SUVs over hatchbacks, sedans and other types of vehicles because of their high-riding nature. SUVs are the more sensible and reliable choice on Indian roads as they offer better ground clearance than other vehicles. Therefore, Tata Punch is the highest selling vehicle as well as SUV in April 2024. Let’s take a look at the five top-selling SUVs in April 2024.

Tata Punch 

Tata Punch is topping the sales charts in not just SUV sales but overall sales of all cars in April. A total of 19,158 units of Tata Punch were sold last month. This marks the third consecutive month that the Punch has been India's most popular model, achieving its highest sales figure since its launch. The growth rate of Punch sales has been remarkable, with a 75 per cent increase compared to April last year. In March, Punch sold 17,547 units, representing a 67 per cent rise from the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza 

The SUV segment experienced a sharp decline in Tata Nexon's sales, allowing the Maruti Suzuki Brezza to claim its spot. Brezza sold 17,113 units last month, making it India's third best-selling car in April with a growth rate of 45 per cent. In March, Maruti Suzuki sold 14,614 units of the Brezza SUV, competing with models like Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and the newly-launched Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Hyundai Creta 

Hyundai's Creta, leading the compact SUV segment, ranked third last month. The 2024 Creta has sparked significant interest, evident in its recent sales figures. The Korean automaker sold 15,447 units of the SUV, competing against models like Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Creta's sales witnessed a 9 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.

Mahindra Scorpio 

Mahindra's Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic duo have become a recent success story, solidifying the Scorpio SUV brand as one of India's most popular models. Mahindra Scorpio garnered 14,807 buyers last month, marking a more than 50 per cent increase in sales. However, its sales slightly declined compared to the 15,151 units sold in March this year.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx 

Maruti Suzuki Fronx stands as the carmaker's second best-selling SUV, following the Brezza. With over 60 per cent growth in sales, the Fronx found 14,286 buyers across India last month.
