Cars Price Hike 2026:  From the new Kia Seltos 2026 to Mahindra’s Baby Scorpio, the year 2026 is full of several key car launches. While 2026 is poised to witness several key launches and major policy changes, several cars are set to become more expensive, as many car manufacturers have announced price hikes effective from January 1, 2026. The price hike has been announced as a result of increasing input and operational costs. Let’s take a look at all the car companies that have announced a price hike on their products.

Honda

Honda, the Japanese car manufacturer, has announced a price hike across all its models offered in India, effective January 1, 2026. The brand has not yet shared the exact margin of the price hike. Honda Cars India Limited offers a total of 3 models, the Amaze, the City, and the mid-size SUV, Elevate, in the country.

BYD

Currently, BYD is the leader of the electric vehicle segment in the world in terms of sales. The brand currently offers a total of 4 models in the country: the Atto 3 electric SUV, the Seal electric sedan, the Sealion 7 electric SUV, and the 7-seater electric mpv, the e-Max 7. However, the brand has announced a price hike only for its Sealion 7 SUV.

MG Motors

MG Motors has also announced a price hike of up to 2 per cent across all of its models available in the country. While the brand is planning on strengthening its position in the ICE vehicles market, it already holds a significant position in the electric vehicles market of the country. The popular models offered by the brand in India are the MG Comet, MG Windsor, MG Hector, MG Astor, and the MG Gloster.

Mercedes-Benz

One of the world’s most renowned luxury car brands, Mercedes-Benz, has also announced a price hike of up to 2 per cent across its key models in the country. The brand currently offers popular models such as the S-class, the G-wagon, the E-Class, the C-class, GLC, and many more in the country.

BMW

BMW, the German car manufacturer, has also announced a price hike of up to Rs 3 per cent across its CKD and CBU models in India. Notably, the brand also announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent in September 2025, and the recently announced price will be effective from January 1, 2026.

Nissan

Nissan, the Japanese car manufacturer, is also set to hike prices from January 1, 2026. The brand currently offers only the Magnite compact SUV in the country. The brand has also announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent on its Magnite SUV from January 1, 2026. It is worth mentioning that the brand will also be launching two new models in India in 2026.
