The 2nd edition of the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards was co-powered by Matter Motors, and it emerged as a united platform to discuss India’s EV roadmap, along with advancing electric mobility and core pillars of the Viksit Bharat Vision. The event also celebrated and honoured the architects of the country’s EV revolution. The second edition of the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards began with the keynote address of Konark Tyagi, Consulting Editor at Jagran Hitech Jagran New Media. He highlighted that the second edition of the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards is not just about the EV push; this time it is about the massive transformation in mobility since the invention of the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). He also highlighted that the electric car segment used to be a niche category, but it has now entered the mainstream.

The second edition of the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards 2026 also included a firechat session between Arijit Garg, Editor-Auto, Jagran Hitech, Jagran New Media, and Arun Pratap Singh, Co-Founder and Group COO Matter Motors. Arun Pratap Singh, Co-Founder and Group COO of Matter Motors, shared his thoughts about EV adoption in India and said, ‘Electric cars are more expensive than ICE cars in the country, and customers pay 80 per cent of the cost for the battery. Therefore, innovations such as BaaS (Battery as a Service) make sense, as it distributes the cost of the battery over the life of the vehicle.’

The EV segment in India is growing at a rapid pace, and a panel discussed the Global EV race: opportunities and challenges for India at the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards 2026. The panel was moderated by Konark Tyagi, and the topic was discussed between Ravi Mittal, Director, Strategic Projects MG Motors, Sumit Chaturvedi, Founder, EIC voiworld & Auto Expert, and Abhinav Kalia, Co-Founder & CEO ARC Electric. During the panel discussion, Ravi Mittal said, ‘Consumers are looking for an affordable solution, Resolving Charging Anxiety, The running cost of a car, for EV it’s just Rs1/KM, and all of these points are very important for quick EV adoption in India.’

The adoption rate of electric vehicles is rapidly increasing in the country. As the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards 2026 navigates India’s EV roadmap, a panel of experts also discussed What Drives the EV Adoption in India, and the discussion was moderated by Nikhil Chawla, Founder, The Unbiased Blog. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of electric passenger vehicles at BYD India, said, ‘Fundamentally, EVs are more efficient, and this higher efficiency allows automakers to integrate more advanced technologies-whether it’s larger digital screens, smarter software systems, or additional in-car features.’ Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communication & Social, Hyundai Motor India, said ‘The timing is right and policies are supportive. By 2027-28, we are likely to see a much stronger adoption of EVs among consumers.’

Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards 2026: India’s EV Charging Infrastructure
Range anxiety is one of the most significant reasons that has slowed down the adoption of EVs in the country. Thus, India’s EV Charging Infrastructure emerged as a vital topic for discussion at the Evolution Bharat Conclave & Awards 2026. The panel was moderated by Arijit Garg, Editor, Auto-Jagran Hitech, Jagran New Media. Abhijeet Sinha, Program Director, National Highways for Electric Vehicles & Ease of Doing Business, said, ‘You cannot drive a true EV revolution until the users themselves are placed at the center of the conversation.’ Garima Avtar, Content Creator & Former Extreme Rally Racer, highlighted awareness around charging networks and said, ‘Highways and smaller towns need stronger EV infrastructure. In addition, visibility and awareness around charging networks are still limited. At times, an EV driver may not even be aware of the available charging stations in the area.’
