Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Phase 2 Live Voting Updates: As the election commission of India (ECI) released the latest voter turnout figures of second phase of Bihar assembly election 2025, the state has observed a highest voter turnout with 68.52 per cent till 5pm. The voting began at 7 am and continued till 5 pm

Preparations are underway for the second and last phase of the Bihar Assembly polls, where 3.7 crore voters will decide the fate of 1,302 candidates across 122 constituencies today.

The second phase will decide the fate of 12 ministers from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet. Among them are JD(U) leaders Vijendra Yadav (contesting from Supaul assembly constituency), Lesi Singh (Dhamdaha), Jayant Kushwaha (Amarpur), Sumit Singh (Chakai), Mohammad Jama Khan (Chainpur), and Sheela Mandal (Phoolparas).

Ministers from the BJP in the fray include Prem Kumar (Gaya), Renu Devi (Bettiah), Vijay Kumar Mandal (Sikati), Nitish Mishra (Jhanjharpur), Neeraj Bablu (Chhatapur), and Krishnanandan Paswan (Harsiddhi).

Other key constituencies include Sasaram, Imamganj, Mohania, Bihpur, Gopalpur, Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj, and Nathnagar.

Out of the 122 seats, 11 assembly seats in East Champaran, 10 each in Madhubani and Gaya, nine in West Champaran, eight in Sitamarhi, and seven each in Bhagalpur, Rohtas, Purnia, and Katihar. Six assembly seats will go to the polls in Araria and Aurangabad each.

Nawada, Banka, and Supaul will each witness contests on five seats. Kaimur, Jamui, and Kishanganj have four seats each, Jehanabad has three, followed by two assembly seats in Arwal, and one in Sheohar district.

Out of all the seats that will go to the polls tomorrow, the BJP won 42 seats in the 2020 assembly elections, while the RJD emerged victorious on 33 seats. The Janata Dal (United) bagged 20 seats, Congress won 11, and Left parties collectively secured five.

Polling in the second phase will be held at 45,399 centres.

Kishanganj Registers Highest Voter Turnout; Kathihar, Purnia Follow

With ECI releasing the latest figures of voter tunout in the second phase of Bihar assembly election 2025, the state recorded highest ever voter turnout of 67.14 per cent. Constitunecies like kishanganj, Kathihar, Purnia remain at forefront of the figure. 

Kishanganj recorded 76.26 per cent voter turnour, followed by Kathihar and Purnia with 75.23 per cent and 73.79 per cent.

'Bihar Has Worked Wonders': Tejashwi On Record Voter Tunout

As soon as ECI released the provisional figure of voter turnout as of 5 pm during the second phase of Bihar assembly election 2025, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav lauded the voter turnout numbers of the state. 

"My heart is filled with joy; my Bihar has truly worked wonders. Reports of bumper voting are coming in from everywhere. The elderly, women, youth, traders, farmers, every caste, every class is enthusiastically ensuring their participation in this grand festival of democracy. May this momentum not stop, may these steps not halt," he said in a post on X.

Belaganj, Barachatti, Gurua, Among Constituencies With Highest Turnout

As the Elction Commission of India has released the estimated voter turnout as of Bihar assembly election 2025 as of 5 pm, the state has recorded an overall voter turnout of 67.14 per cent with Gurua, Belaganj and Barachatti among the constituencies with highest percentage of voter turnout. 

Gurua assembly seat recoded a voter turnout of 70.32 per cent, Belaganj registered voter turnout of 72.36 per cent and Barachatti recorded a voter turnout of 72.15 per cent.

Bihar Elections 2025 Live Voting Updates: 'NDA Ki Aandhi Chal Rahi Hai', Says HAM(S) Chief Santosh Kumar Suman 

Amid the polling for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, minister and national president of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) Santosh Kumar Suman expressed confidence in the NDA's victory.

Speaking to ANI, Suman said that the feedback from party workers on the ground shows that 'NDA ki aandhi chal rahi hai' (there is a storm of NDA).

He said, "The feedback we are receiving from our party workers shows that 'NDA ki aandhi chal rahi hai' (there is a storm of NDA). The impact of the work done by the government is being seen. On November 14, we will celebrate Holi and Diwali together and form a strong government."

Bihar Election Phase 2 Voting Live Updates: Gayaji Records Highest Voter Turnout At 15.97% 

A total of 14.55 per cent of the 3.7 crore voters exercised their franchise in the first two hours of voting in the second phase of assembly elections in Bihar on Tuesday, an official said. Gayaji district recorded the highest polling percentage so far at 15.97, followed by Kishanganj (15.81) and Jamui (15.77).

Bhagalpur district recorded the lowest turnout of 13.43 per cent till 9 am. Voting began for 122 constituencies in Bihar in the second and final phase of the high-stakes assembly polls amid tight security arrangements, he said.

The polling began at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. In this phase, the electoral fate of 1,302 candidates, including several ministers in the Nitish Kumar government, will be sealed.

As the polling for the second phase of the Bihar elections is underway, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stressed that the state needs a 'model' filled with economic development, social justice, and equality.

He attacked the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance government, accusing it of running an enduring, opportunistic, corruption-ridden government that is against the poor and deprived.

"Bihar needs a 'model' filled with economic development, social justice, and equality. For 20 years, Bihar has endured an opportunistic, corruption-ridden government that is against the poor and deprived; today, the time for change has arrived," Kharge wrote on 'X'.

Kharge also appealed to the voters to turn out in large numbers and encourage others to participate in the voting process taking place at the "birthplace of democracy."
