Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked the people of Bihar for the NDA's sweeping victory in the state and said it has given a new positive "MY formula"- Mahila and Youth. Addressing victory celebrations at the BJP headquarters here, PM Modi took a jibe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal and said that some parties in Bihar had created the appeasement formula of MY.

"But today's victory has given a new positive MY formula, and that is Mahila and Youth. Today, Bihar is among those states of the country which have the highest number of youth, and this includes youth from every religion and every caste. Their desire, their aspiration and their dreams have completely destroyed the old communal MY formula of the Jungle Raj people," he said.

"Jai Chhathi Maiya, yeh prachand jeet, atoot vishwas, Bihar ke logo ne bilkul garda uda diya hai, " says Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he begins his address to celebrate the NDA's victory in the Bihar elections.

The Election Commission has declared results for 147 seats, of which the NDA has won 125 seats and the Mahagathbandhan has won 17 seats. AIMIM wins on 5 seats. Counting of votes on other seats is underway.

"In this election, we have received the blessings of all sections of society. On the other hand, the grand alliance was doing politics by dividing society; their strategy was to rule by dividing society. They wanted to run Bihar not with the help of Biharis, but with the help of infiltrators. The people of Bihar have given them a befitting reply and sent a clear message that the people of Bihar stand with nationalist forces," said JP Nadda.

"On behalf of all workers, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the people of Bihar for the resounding mandate they have given. These results indicate that this is a tsunami. This tsunami has made it clear that whether it is the people of Bihar or the people of the country, everyone has unwavering faith in the Prime Minister, and they have put a seal of approval on the politics of development to take the state forward...This election was between development and jungle raj, and people have voted for development..."

BJP's winning candidate from Bankipur assembly constituency, Nitin Nabin, says, "This victory is dedicated to the people and workers of Bankipur. I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and all others for this victory. We contested the election under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, and he will be the Chief Minister."

After the NDA crossed the majority figure in Bihar, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh said, "...The people of Bihar have voted for development. The public has put a stamp on development and has put a stamp on further increasing this development in the next five years. Nitish Kumar is a tiger; the people have put a stamp on Nitish Kumar's leadership and his work."

RJD candidate Rahul Kumar won from Jehanabad while Shreyasi Singh won from Jamui by 54,772 votes.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah posts on X, "...I assure the people of Bihar and especially our mothers and sisters that with the hope and trust with which you have given this mandate to the NDA, under the leadership of Modi ji, the NDA government will fulfill it with even greater dedication..."

"Every single vote of the people of Bihar is a symbol of faith in the Modi government's policy against infiltrators who play with India's security and resources, and their sympathisers. The public has given a befitting reply to those who protect infiltrators for the sake of vote banks. BJP candidate Arun Kumar Singh won the Baruraj seat. This is his third consecutive victory, defeating VIP's Rakesh Kumar by over 29,000 votes.

NDA leaders have started arriving at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's residence in Patna as the alliance is set to return to power in the state.

On NDA leading in Bihar, MP Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said, "One can only express joy at this overwhelming victory; no words can be expressed on such an occasion. Such a historic victory is rare in electoral politics. Critics can continue to weigh in, and those who complain can keep complaining. But the people of Bihar and the workers deserve congratulations..."

Celebrations have begun in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's village Kalyan Bigha as NDA is set to return to power in Bihar with a massive majority.

The counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly elections is now reaching its final stage. According to the trends so far, the NDA is heading towards a landslide victory in Muzaffarpur. Out of the 11 assembly seats, NDA candidates are leading in ten. RJD's candidate is leading in the only seat, Paru. BJP candidate and minister Raju Kumar Singh has won the Sahibganj assembly seat. BJP's Arun Kumar Singh is leading in Baruraj, Rama Nishad in Aurai, Kedar Prasad Gupta in Kudhni, and Ranjan Kumar in Muzaffarpur. JDU's Ajit Kumar is leading in Kanti, Ajay Kumar in Minapur, Aditya Kumar in Sakra, and Komal Singh in Gaighat. LJP's Baby Kumari is leading in Bochahan. The NDA had won this many seats in the 2010 assembly elections. At that time, only the Baruraj seat went to the RJD.

Mahagathbandhan’s bid to return to power in the Bihar polls fell short, as early trends showed the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) headed for a sweeping victory with lead in over 200 seats. Organisational shortcomings, an inflexible caste coalition, the lingering impact of the “Jungle Raj” narrative, and the Congress’s persistent focus on allegations of “vote theft" could be some of the reasons for Mahagathbandhan's fallout. Together, these factors created an unfavourable environment for the Mahagathbandhan, ultimately undermining its chances at the polls.

After 12 rounds of vote counting in Raghopur, BJP's Satish Kumar is leading by 4,570 votes. RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan CM face Tejashwi Yadav is trailing.

JDU's Ramchandra Sada won the Alauli seat by over 35,000 votes. The official result has not yet been announced. He defeated RJD MLA Ramvriksh Sada.

NDA has managed a comfortable lead and surged past the 200-seat mark in the latest trends of Bihar Assembly Election 2025. Janata Dal (United) on Friday highlighted the role of women voters in the mandate.

In a post on X, Janata Dal (United) shared, "The trust of Bihar's women has triumphed.. The NDA has triumphed, Bihar has triumphed..(Jeeta hai Bihar ki mahilao ka vishwaas... jeeta hai NDA, jeeta hai Bihar)."

BJP candidate and minister Raju Kumar Singh wins from Sahebganj in Muzaffarpur. 

After a total of 25 rounds of counting, BJP candidate and former MP Sunil Kumar Pintu won the election by a margin of about 6.500 votes. However, the official announcement of the election result has not been made yet. As soon as the counting of votes was over, he called his daughter from the counting centre and congratulated her, saying, "Tell your mother and grandmother that I have won the election."

Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary has almost won from Tarapur after 18 rounds of voting. The NDA is close to winning  Tarapur, Jamalpur and Munger seats in Munger district. ECI is yet to make a formal announcement.

Bihar government minister Ashok Choudhary said, "We were hoping to win 170-175 seats. We didn't know where we would end up. We have secured more than a 2/3 majority, and we are very thankful to the public for this. May Mahadev give us enough strength in the times to come so that we can fulfill our promises."

The first results have been declared for the 12 assembly constituencies of East Champaran. In Kesaria, JDU candidate Shalini Mishra defeated VIP candidate Varun Vijay by 16,340 votes.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar in Kolkata said, " The people of Bihar have endorsed their trust in PM Modi, and as long as Rahul Gandhi remains in the Congress, he is bound to be wiped out. If the Congress is to be saved, Rahul Gandhi should think differently."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address Bharatiya Janata Party workers this evening at the party's office in Delhi after the National Democratic Alliance displayed a stunning and historic performance in the Bihar assembly elections.

NDA is currently leading on 199 seats.

After 11 rounds, RJD's former minister Sameer Mahaseth is trailing by 4,539 votes in the Madhubani seat, while RLM's Madhav Anand is leading.

In Buxar, BJP's Anand Mishra is leading by 21,617 votes as of the 12th round. In Rajpur, JDU's Santosh Nirala is leading by 4,147 votes as of the 10th round. In Dumraon, JDU's Rahul Singh is leading by 376 votes as of the 16th round. In Brahmapur, LJP Ram Vilas' Hulas Pandey is leading by 2,413 votes as of the 10th round.

JDU's Anant Singh is heading towards a big victory from Mokama assembly seat, he is currently leading by a massive 22,539 votes.

Balrampur, a stronghold of the CPI(ML) in Seemanchal, is poised for an unexpected result this time. The stronghold is on the verge of collapse. Here, LJP (R)'s Sangeeta Devi is leading by 22,147 votes in the 15th round. CPI(ML)'s Mehboob Alam, elected in 2015 and 2020, is in third place. In the last election, Mehboob won with the highest number of votes in the district, 53,597.

Nitish Kumar’s governance in Bihar has been defined by his emphasis on development and inclusivity, enabling him to retain broad support across communities, including Muslims. His policies and welfare schemes have driven economic growth, strengthened infrastructure, and improved living standards, outcomes that continue to resonate with voters.

As NDA crosses the majority mark in Bihar election, RJD MP Manoj Jha said that the situation can change as the margin is very less on many seats.

"The counting of votes is underway. There's also a psychological game going on. We found that in more than 65-70 seats, the margin is less than 3000-5000 votes, and we are sure that the situation can change in those seats... The vote count is extremely slow... This is just an initial trend; we have seen such trends change by the end," RJD MP Manoj Jha told reporters. 

Raghopur continues to be in turmoil. Tejashwi Yadav has made a comeback. He is leading by 585 votes in Raghopur in the 8th round.

The RJD is leading in only one of Aurangabad's five seats. NDA leads in Aurangabad, Kutumba Reserved, Obra, Nabinagar and Rafiganj, RJD ahead by around 500 votes in Goh.

The NDA appears to be gaining a majority in Bihar. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav posted on X about this. He wrote, "The game played by the SIR in Bihar will no longer be possible in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, or elsewhere, because this electoral conspiracy has now been exposed. We will not let them play this game any further. Like CCTV, our 'PPTV,' meaning 'PDA Prahari,' will remain vigilant and foil the BJP's plans. The BJP is not a party, but a fraud."

The tables have turned in Raghopur once again as Tejashwi Yadav is trailing. The BJP makes a spectacular comeback with Satish Kumar leading by 343 votes in the 7th round.

Asaduddin Owaisi's party now leads on 5 seats. AIMIM candidates are leading in Jokihat, Kochadhaman, Thakurganj, Amour and Baisi

BJP is leading in the 12th round of trends from the Barh constituency. RJD's Karanveer Singh Yadav, also known as Lallu Mukhiya, has received 37,450 votes so far. BJP's Siyaram Singh has received 45,362 votes and is leading. Jan Suraaj's Mahesh Prasad Singh has received 1,514 votes. Nota has received even more votes, at 1,753.

BJP becomes the largest party with a lead in 87 seats, Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM ahead in 4 seats as counting continues for Bihar Election 2025. 

In the seventh round, LJP's Ram Vilas Singh led in Mahua by 6,784 votes. Tej Pratap Yadav was fourth with 4,941 votes.

"So far, the results that have come in show that the people of Bihar have given full support and blessings to the NDA, and we are heading towards a bumper victory," said BJP candidate from Danapur assembly constituency Ram Kirpal Yadav.

Tejashwi Yadav is leading by 219 votes in Raghopur in the 6th round. In Danapur, BJP's Ram Kripal Yadav has received 53,261 votes so far. RJD's Ritlal Yadav has received 54,724 votes and is leading slightly. Jan Suraaj's Shailesh Kumar Dhiraj has received 1,574 votes. Interestingly, NOTA has received more votes than the third-placed candidate, reaching 1,658.

RJD candidate from Narkatiaganj and Bagaha sugar mill owner Deepak Yadav is trailing by 15,353 votes. BJP's Sanjay Kumar Pandey received 60,371 votes in the 12th round of counting.

After the eighth round of counting, BJP candidate Shreyasi Singh is leading by 15890 votes from Jamui assembly constituency.

A new poster of CM Nitish Kumar has been put up in Patna, which reads, "Our Bihar has one star, every time Nitish Kumar". Trends show the ruling NDA leading in 190 seats, well above the majority mark of 122, while the opposition party INDIA Block is trailing with a lead in 49 of the 243 assembly seats.

"I have been saying from the beginning that the NDA will win the election with a massive majority, and now the picture is almost clear: the NDA is coming back to power with a huge majority. The grand alliance had only claims... Whatever was supposed to happen to Prashant Kishor has happened... He had no hold among the people," BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal told ANI.

At present NDA is leading on 189 seats while Mahagathbandhan is ahead on just 50 seats. Counting of votes will continue till evening.

"Bihar results are disappointing, there is no doubt about it. The kind of atmosphere I saw there - women were given Rs 10,000 each; it was being given even when the Election Campaign was ongoing...EC remained a mute spectator. Why did it not stop this? It should have, but it didn't...This means that what Rahul Gandhi said for Vote Chori, this is what Vote Chori is. If fair elections are not held, if rigging takes place, if bopoth capturing takes place or there is cheating and money is being distributed - EC didn't take any action, they were colluding with the ruling party," said Senior Observer for the state, Ashok Gehlot as Mahagathbandhan trails in Bihar.

In the sixth round, RJD candidate from Kahalgaon, Rajneesh Yadav is leading by 987 votes. CPI(ML) leading by 6205 votes in the fifth round of Ghosi assembly seat in Jehanabad. Bihar Dy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha leading by 5396 in Lakhisarai BJP's Satish Kumar leading by 105 votes in Raghopur seat in the 5th round, Tejashwi trailing.

In the initial rounds of trends from the Phulwari Assembly constituency, JDU's Shyam Rajak has taken the lead. As of the seventh round, he has received 2,577.8 votes. Gopal Ravidas has secured 2,318.2 votes. Jan Suraaj's Shashi Kant Prasad is in third place with 2,182 votes. NOTA has received 1,089 votes as of this round. 

BJP MLA from Chanpatia, Umakant Singh, is leading by 1,199 votes. Congress's Abhishek Ranjan received 25,793 votes in the seventh round of counting. Manish Kashyap is also trailing.

In Bhojpur, the CPI(ML) stronghold of Agiaon, the BJP candidate maintained a steady lead in the neck-to-neck contest. He was ahead by 2,552 votes in the sixth round.

After the ninth round of counting in Bihar Election 2025, the BJP candidate from Sitamarhi assembly is ahead by 11500 votes. In Bajpatti third round, RLD's Rameshwar Kushwaha is leading by 567 votes. In Saidpur of Sitamarhi, JDU candidate Pankaj Kumar Mishra is leading by 12844 in the ninth round. Anil Ram is leading by 3000 votes in the third round from Bathnaha assembly constituency of Sitamarhi. BJP candidate Vaidyanath Prasad is leading by 12,000 votes after 12 rounds from Riga assembly constituency in Sitamarhi. RJD candidate Abu Dojana leading by 1800 votes from Sursand assembly constituency of Sitamarhi. After the second round of counting, LJP candidate Amit Kumar Ranu is leading by 2400 votes from Belsand assembly constituency. Senior BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav is trailing by 12,563 votes in Danapur. RJD's Ritlal Yadav is leading.

Till the third round of counting for Raghopur seat, Tejashwi Yadav is trailing by 1273 votes.

Speaking on the Bihar Assembly election vote count, BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said, "We had said at the time of the exit polls that the direction is right, but the destination will be even better and the final numbers will be stronger than expected. Today's results prove the excellent work done by the NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar ji."

RJD candidate from Raghopur seat, Tejashwi Yadav is trailing against BJP's Satish Kumar by more than 1,000 votes.

"This will not be a victory for BJP or NDA but a victory through SIR," said Congress leader Udit Raj.

JDU is leading on 82 seats and BJP is leading on 78. RJD is showing a dismal performace, leading on just 34 seats. Congress is ahead on 6 seats. 

NDA candidate Rameshwar Kushwaha leading by 300 votes in the third round from Bajpatti assembly constituency of Sitamarhi. Madan Sahni leads Bhola Yadav by 266 votes in Bahadurpur Assembly constituency of Darbhanga.
Maithili Thakur from Alinagar leading by 4113 after 3 rounds. Minister Kedar Gupta is again leading in Kudhni in Muzaffarpur, with a lead of around 200 votes. In Kesaria, JDU's Shalini Mishra is ahead of VIP candidate Varun Vijay by 10,000 votes in the 11th round. Anant Singh leading by around 11,000 votes from Mokama.

BJP has improved on its performance between the 2015 and 2020. In 2015, BJP won 53 of 157 seats and 74 of 110 seats in 2020. RJD has also put out an impressive performance, having won 80 of the 101 seats it contested in 2015 and 75 of the 144 seats it put up candidates in during the 2020 polls.

Jitan Ram Manjhi expressed happiness on the Bihar election trends. He said, "We will not come below 160."

The first three rounds of vote counting have been completed in all five assembly constituencies of Banka district. Trends so far show NDA candidates leading in four. BJP candidate Ramayan Mandal is consistently leading in the Banka assembly constituency. Meanwhile, JDU candidate Jayanti Raj Kushwaha has taken the lead in Amarpur and, according to trends, remains firmly in the race. JDU candidate Manish Kumar is also leading in the Dhoraiya assembly constituency.

The contest in the Katoria Assembly constituency is turning out to be quite interesting this time, with the Grand Alliance's RJD candidate Sweety Seema Hembram leading, making the equations interesting. In the Belhar Assembly constituency, JDU's Manoj Kumar has established a substantial lead in the first three rounds. Overall, the NDA appears to be dominating the initial trends, while in Katoria, the Grand Alliance has taken the lead.

Bihar Election 2025 is seeing the main contest between the National Democratic Alliance, led by CM Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav's Mahagathbandhan.

In the last assembly election in 2020, the NDA secured a majority in the assembly and won 125 seats, with Nitish Kumar again taking oath as Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar however, broke the alliance in August 2022, resigned as the CM, forming a government with the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan.

"Every election is a democratic lesson and public message for the political parties and should be accepted humbly. Defeat and loss are two sides of the same coin. Some people believe in creating a ruckus instead of accepting. The public mood over the last 11 years has been for the continuation of good governance... Let us wait and watch," BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told ANI.

According to ECI, the NDA has crossed the majority mark and is leading on 140 seats, the JD(U) on 62, BJP on 59, LJP(RV) on 15 and HAM (Secular) on 4. Mahagathbandhan shows a dismal performace, leading on just 46 seats. RJD 34, Congress 10, CPI(ML) two.

After the first round of counting of votes in Patna Sahib Assembly, Congress's Shashant Shekhar got 5369 votes and BJP's Ratnesh Kumar got 1371 votes.

RJD candidate Narendra Kumar Singh is leading by 6,600 votes in the Begusarai Matihani assembly constituency. CPI candidate Suryakant Paswan is leading by 4,700 votes in Bakhri. BJP's Rajneesh is leading by 4,000 votes in Teghra.

Initial trends show a comfortable lead for NDA. In the initial trends of Bihar election results, NDA is leading on 125 seats and Grand Alliance on 72 seats.

According to the ECI, 2,616 candidates and 12 recognised political parties participated in the two-phase polls on November 6 and 11 in Bihar Election 2025, and none requested repolling in any constituency.

Counting of votes has begun at SS College, Jehanabad. Postal ballot counting has begun for all three assembly constituencies. Votes from the three assembly constituencies of the district, Jehanabad, Ghosi, and Makhdumpur, will be counted in separate rooms. Sound amplifying equipment has been arranged in each counting room, jagran.com reported. Magistrates, police officers, and police force have been deputed to ensure a peaceful counting process. Entry into the counting area is prohibited without a pass. Fourteen tables have been set up for each of the three assembly constituencies. A media center has been set up in the counting area for news collection. Stage-wise results will be made available to media representatives. A total of 27 rounds of counting are to be conducted.

Samrat Chaudhary trails in Tarapur while Tej Pratap's party leads by one seat.

Counting of votes for the assembly elections has begun. Right now the counting of postal ballots is going on. Counting of Tarapur will be done in 30 rounds, Munger in 29 rounds and Jamalpur in 28 rounds. Counting of votes will take place at RD & DJ College. Trends of the respective assembly will also start coming between 9 am to 9.30 am. 14 tables have been set up for each assembly for counting of votes.

A total of 39 candidates, including party and independent candidates, are in the fray on all three seats. However, just a day before the first phase of polling on November 6, one candidate each from Munger and Tarapur had supported the NDA.

"Nitish Kumar is going to become the Chief Minister. The people who used to marginalise Nitish Kumar have now understood what Nitish Kumar is," Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary told ANI. 

Initial trends show the NDA leading in 84 seats and the Grand Alliance in 50. The BJP is leading in 50 seats and the JDU in 30.

Munna Shukla's daughter, Shivani Shukla, is leading in Lalganj. Trends have emerged for 85 seats so far.

Trends show Jan Suraaj is currently leading on three seats, Manish Kashyap leading in Chanpatia.

BJP is currently leading on 76 seats while Mahagathbandhan is ahead on 45 seats as voting begins for Bihar Election 2025.

RJD's Osama is ahead in Raghunathpur while BJP's Nitin Naveen is ahead in Bankipur.

Horse-mounted police personnel are carrying out patrolling in Patna, as counting for Bihar Election 2025 begins. JDU's Anant Singh is leading in the Mokama Assembly constituency in early trends. He is up against RJD's Veena Devi.

Meanwhile, posters of 'Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai' with CM Nitish Kumar's picture were put outside JDU office in Patna. JDU has contested on 101 seats, equal to what the BJP has contested, in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections.

"We are going to win. Thanks to everyone. A change is about to come. We are forming the government," said Mahagathbandhan's CM face and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as vote counting began for Bihar Election 2025.

Gaya District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar said, "All preparations are complete. Our vote counting will begin at 8 am. There are two counting centers, and we are monitoring both. Everything is running smoothly and there are no problems. The model code of conduct is still in place, so victory processions are strictly prohibited. Public gatherings are also banned in the entire district. We have adequate forces available."

Election Commission of India (ECI) begins vote counting for Bihar Assembly Election 2025. Trends are expected to become clear by noon. Complete results will be declared by evening.

Food items are being prepared at the residence of RJD leader Veena Devi in Mokama ahead of the beginning of counting of votes for Bihar Election 2025. Some of the delicacies included Litti Chokha and Rasgulla.

The Grand Alliance, which includes RJD contesting 143 seats, Congress 61, the Left parties 30, and VIP 9. The Grand Alliance is contesting friendly seats in some seats, including Chainpur, Kargahar, Narkatiaganj, Sikandra, Kahalgaon, and Sultanganj.

Before the counting of votes, Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnia, said that the BJP cannot win any election without lies, money power, and theft. The BJP also made every effort to replace the Nitish Kumar's government with its own.

As per the previous year trends, whenever there has been an increase of over five percentage points in the voter turnout in Bihar, governments have changed three times.

RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha said, "We are with the hopes and expectations of Bihar. The State is heading towards a change. Everything will be clear after noon. Change, under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav and Mahagathbandhan."

"I believe Exit Polls are a game of capital, a game of market, a game of 'Shehen-Shah'. We do not play that game," he added ahead of the counting of votes for Bihar Election 2025.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai Assembly seat Vijay Kumar Sinha performed puja at a temple in Lakhisarai.

"The public will decide who will win the elections, 'parivarvaadi log' consider politics as their fiefdom. But the public of Bihar will give a strong message to the 'Yuvraaj' of 'jungle raaj'" Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha told ANI.

Vijay Sinha is a BJP candidate from the Lakhisarai Assembly seat.

Speaking on the counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly elections, Bihar minister Dr Prem Kumar said, "I am confident that the NDA will win more than 200 seats. The public is very happy with the development work carried out by the NDA government. Our government has given priority to women."

After the completion of voting in Bihar, Matrix, JVC Poll, People's Pulse, People's Inside, Chanakya Strategies and NDTV Poll of Polls have shown NDA returning to power. On the contrary, Axis My India estimates a close contest between NDA and Mahagathbandhan. According to the survey, NDA will win 121 to 140 seats, Grand Alliance will win 98-118 seats and Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraaj Party will win between zero to two seats. The majority mark in the 243-seat Bihar Assembly is 122.

This time, Bihar recorded a record 66.91 per cent voter turnout. Voter turnout in the first phase of voting, held on November 6, was 65.08 per cent. Voter turnout in the second phase, held on November 11, was 68.76 per cent. Combined, male voter turnout for both phases was 62.8 per cent and female voter turnout was 71.6 per cent.

According to the Election Commission, vote counting will begin at 8 am. The first round of counting is expected by 8:30 am. Trends will begin emerging by noon, and results are expected by evening. 

Before the counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly election, BJP workers performed rituals at the Hanuman temple in Patna.

"I am confident that we will be successful. Mahagathbandhan will be forming the government in Bihar...The results will surely be in our favour. The public has given their mandate to secure their future...The exit of NDA is certain," RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari told ANI. 

Both phases of Bihar Election 2025 saw hectic campaigns by political leaders. The results of the Bihar Assembly elections will be announced today, November 14.

"I inspected the strong room. The arrangements are good," Tej Pratap Yadav told reporters on Friday. On RJD leader Sunil Kumar Singh's statement, he added, "He is a 'faltu aadmi', there is no value in what he speaks."

Tej Pratap is Janshakti Janata Dal chief and candidate from the Mahua seat in Bihar Election 2025.

Several exit polls have predicted that the ruling NDA will clearly get a majority in Bihar Election 2025. One of the exit polls also stated that NDA is going to win between 150 and 170 of the state's 243 seats. However, the high voter turnout can give the alliance a pause.

The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar aims to retain power under the leadership of JDU veteran Nitish Kumar, while the Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan is vying to form the state government after a decade. Adding complexity to the race, the entry of poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has made the contest a three-way battle.

The ECI introduced EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) after 1998. It’s an electronic device that is used for recording votes without the use of paper. EVMs run on normal batteries, and they do not require electricity. If an EVM suddenly stops working for some reason, it can be replaced with a new one.

Recorded votes are totally safe as EVMs can store results in their memory until a polling officer deletes data. Electronic voting machines have been used in all general and state assembly elections in India since 2014.

The ballot box election is the form of voting which takes place directly at the polling booth, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI). The Election officers, who are volunteers, verify every citizen's right to vote by comparing their personal ID with the data listed on the electoral roll. If a person has the right to vote, then only they receive the election documents and the Ballot Paper (A piece of paper that is used for secret voting).

Afterwards, the voter puts their completed ballot into a ballot box. The ballot box must be locked and sealed until counting begins so as to ensure that the ballot papers cannot be manipulated.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for today's counting of votes polled in the Bihar assembly elections, across 46 centres in 38 districts of the state. Schools in Patna will remain closed today in view of the counting. A total of 7.45 crore voters were eligible to decide the electoral fate of 2,616 candidates.

"Counting arrangements have been made in all the 243 assembly constituencies. The exercise will be conducted by 243 Returning Officers in the presence of 243 Counting Observers and the candidates or their agents," an official said.
