Fourteen representatives from seven countries—France, South Africa, Belgium, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Colombia—have arrived in Bihar's Nalanda district to observe the first phase of the assembly elections.
The foreign representatives arrived in Patna on Thursday, accompanied by officials from the Election Commission of India (ECI). Upon arrival, they were briefed by the Chief Electoral Officer's (CEO) office on the comprehensive preparations for conducting the polls.
As part of the briefing, officials gave a live demonstration of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Senior ECI officials also delivered a detailed presentation covering the process of preparing the electoral roll, election management, and various aspects of India's electoral system.

The visit, part of the International Election Visitor Programme (IEVP), is scheduled for two days, from November 5-6. During this period, the participants will inspect EVM dispatch centres. On November 6, they will directly observe the actual polling process during the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections.
