In its 2025 Assembly election manifesto, the Nitish Kumar government had committed to creating one crore jobs over the next five years. To fulfil this promise, the state budget is expected to prioritise skill development, industrial incentives, and youth-led entrepreneurship.

The Bihar Budget 2026 is expected to provide a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure. According to Jagran.com sources, funding may be allocated for five new expressways across the state. Additionally, the government plans to invest nearly Rs 9,000 crore on rural and urban road networks, and Rs 5,500 crore on the construction of highways, bridges, and culverts.

The government is likely to fund the development of five new townships, signalling a major push toward urbanisation. In addition to this, plans are underway to construct modern interstate bus terminals in every city, aimed at enhancing public transportation and urban amenities across the state.
