The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) will now conduct regular monitoring of electricity supply and related services across Bihar, marking a significant step towards strengthening accountability and improving public service delivery under the state’s Ease of Living initiative.
As part of this framework, the Bihar State Electricity Regulatory Commission has fixed specific time limits for key consumer services, including the issuance of new electricity connections, the resolution of billing complaints, the installation of electric poles, and other electricity-related services. The CMO’s monitoring mechanism will ensure that these services are delivered strictly within the stipulated timelines.

All service requests are being received through the online system. The monitoring team will examine cases where services are delayed and identify the reasons for the lapse. Officials responsible for negligence or failure in service delivery will face appropriate action.
Ensuring an uninterrupted and high-quality power supply has been made a central priority. The monitoring process will assess the continuity of electricity supply, voltage stability, and the speed at which consumer complaints are addressed once registered.
Electricity department officials stated that comprehensive data related to these parameters is available online and will be shared with the CMO’s monitoring team through a dedicated digital dashboard. The review will also include an assessment of staffing levels at power substations to ensure adequate manpower is deployed based on operational requirements.
Officials said the initiative aims to significantly enhance service quality, consumer satisfaction and overall governance efficiency in the state.
