Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Live Updates: Campaigning Ends For Second Phase Of Polls, Voting On 122 Seats On November 11

Political parties have wrapped up their campaigns for the last phase of the Bihar elections, with voters set to cast their ballots for 122 assembly seats on November 11. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14, Friday.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday expressed confidence that the NDA will return to power with a massive majority. "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar, the NDA government is coming to power in Bihar with a massive majority. The enthusiasm of the people is worth watching..." he said. 

Addressing an election rally in Nabinagar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar criticised the previous RJD government, saying, "The previous government (RJD) didn’t do anything for Bihar. People couldn't even go out at night… It’s been 20 years since we formed a government, and since then, we have done a lot of work. We made several improvements in the Education sector and other sectors."

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, speaking at a rally in Goh, Aurangabad, criticised the JDU government over unemployment, saying, "No one is getting jobs under this (JDU) government. If you want a change, then vote for ‘Lantern’ (RJD symbol). Tejashwi wants one chance. Will you all give me that one chance?”

Speaking to ANI on Rahul Gandhi's allegations on vote-chori, Janshakti Janata Dal chief and Mahua Assembly candidate Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday said "none of this is going to be of any use." 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent yatra, claiming it focused on 'saving infiltrators' rather than addressing local issues. "Not long ago, Rahul Gandhi embarked on a major Yatra... This yatra was to save the infiltrators... Rahul Gandhi can undertake as many yatras as he wants, from Patna to Italy, but he won't be able to save the infiltrators. We will work to expel every single infiltrator from the country and Bihar. He is more concerned with about the infiltrators from Bangladesh than with the youth of Bihar.." Shah said. 

Union Minister Shivraj Chouhan attended a public meeting organised in support of BJP candidate Sachindra Prasad Singh at Kotwa in Kalyanpur constituency, said, "The NDA is set to secure victory with a record margin in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are already alleging vote theft and crying foul to cover up their impending defeat."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "When Sonia, Manmohan, and Lalu were in power, terrorists would sneak in, attack our land, and then flee. There was no questioning. After Narendra Modi's government came into power, we carried out a surgical strike in response to the Uri attack and carried out an airstrike when they attacked Pulwama. In Pahalgam, our tourists were killed after being asked about their religion. In just 22 days, we carried out 'Operation Sindoor' and entered Pakistan, wiping out terrorism. On this sacred land of Shaktipeeth, I say that if terrorists fire 'goli', we will retaliate with 'Gola'. Did you know where this 'gola' is going to be made? PM Modi is going to establish a defence corridor and set up an ordnance factory in Bihar..."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a rally in Sasaram as campaigning for Phase 2 of the Bihar election concluded, accused Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son of launching a recent “yatra” to protect infiltrators. “What was the purpose of that yatra?” he asked, adding that infiltrators have no place in Bihar. Shah claimed they are “snatching jobs from our youth, taking away rations from the poor, and making the country unsafe.” Urging that Lalu’s son and Rahul may “do whatever they want,” he pledged from Sasaram to work to expel every infiltrator from Bihar. He accused them of creating an “infiltrator vote bank” and seeking an “infiltrator corridor,” while saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to build an industrial corridor. “In the next five years, we will work to make all of Bihar a developed state,” he declared.

After Araria, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a rally in Supaul, saying, "Today, Bihar's youth, voters, farmers, and every citizen aspire to build a prosperous, developed Bihar on the strong foundations of good governance. The turnout and early trends in the first phase of elections show that if Bihar is to flourish, people must use their votes to elevate the state to new heights of progress. History proves that whenever Bihar prospers, India thrives. Bihar’s golden age signals India’s golden age."

Addressing an election rally in Kishanganj, Congress MP and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi said, "I want mobile phones to say ‘Made in Bihar’ instead of ‘Made in China.’ In the past 20 years, how many food processing units has Nitish Kumar set up? Amit Shah claims there is no land to build factories in Bihar, but that is false. There is plenty of land, and the Bihar government is even ready to provide land to Adani at just Rs 1 per acre."

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a roadshow in Bagaha to support NDA candidate Ram Singh.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, addressing an election rally in Kaimur, said, "Gone are the days when they ruled with a 'katta'; no one can dare threaten anyone now. It was shocking to see RJD ask a 7-year-old to give a speech, in which the child claimed that before he was educated he went around with a stick, but under Tejashwi Bhaiya as Chief Minister, he would carry a 'katta.' Shame on politics that tries to instill such values in an innocent child."

On Bihar Election, Congress leader V. Gurunadham said, "In the first phase, it seems the Congress party and the Mahagathbandhan are ahead, and we are going to back the Congress party, and Tejashwi Yadav is going to bag more seats in the elections. It is clear that Tejashwi Yadav will become the Chief Minister of Bihar on 18th November..."

On Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's recent statement, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "If anyone can bring development, it's the NDA, and no one else. As far as the RJD and Congress are concerned, they say absurd things. They want to achieve political success by tearing apart the harmony and brotherhood of society in the name of caste, sect, and religion. I heard a statement from a Congress leader, the Chief Minister of Telangana, two or three days ago. He said that 'Congress means Muslims, and Muslims mean Congress'. To what extent does Congress want to stoop to politics? I also say this to our Muslim brothers. You are being provoked. Think seriously about this."

At a Bihar poll rally, Rahul Gandhi claimed that Modi, Shah, and the Election Commission have not responded to allegations of ‘vote chori', saying the truth is already visible to the people. He criticised the silence of authorities, urging voters to recognize the issue.

Addressing a public rally in Gaya, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "You have to decide whether to make Bihar a developed state in the coming years or take it back to jungle raj. India is going to become a developed nation... I say with confidence that India will become 'Viksit' only when Bihar becomes 'Viksit'."

The song "I love you Yogi Baba, I love you Bulldozer Baba" was played at the public meeting of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, who visited Narpatganj Assembly constituency in Bihar for an election campaign.

Bhagalpur Assembly constituency is set for polling on November 11 in the second phase of the 2025 Bihar elections. The high-stakes contest sees Congress’s Ajeet Sharma facing BJP’s Rohit Pandey, while Abhay Kant Jha of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party could shake up the traditionally bipolar fight in this general category seat.

Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) National President Mukesh Sahni said, "The Election Commission should answer what is happening. Everyone knows that Vijay Chaudhary is extremely close to Nitish Kumar, and he gets all legitimate-illegitimate work done in his area. This is all a matter of investigation. We have already said that the NDA does not form a government from the people's mandate, it steals votes, and this is all visible... Now the public will have to decide."

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said, "I have been continuously campaigning for our NDA candidates in the Bihar elections. Today I had the opportunity to visit the birthplace of Mata Janaki... Exposing the Congress and all their conspiracies, we have seen from Ayodhya, Banaras and Ujjain what changes can be brought in the lives of our citizens through religious tourism centres. Congress and its allies never do this... Before the Bihar elections, on the proposal of Nitish Kumar, Prime Minister Modi approved funds for Janakpuri Dham, the birthplace of Mata Sita. Addressing a public rally in Araria, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, "Today, Bihar has everything it needs... Under PM Modi's leadership, there is a legacy of development and welfare for the poor. Congress-RJD used to say that Ram doesn't exist, and if there is no Ram, then how can there be Mother Janaki... Congress said that the Ram temple would never be built. RJD stopped the Ram temple's Rath Yatra. Their ally, the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, shot Ram devotees. When Congress, RJD, and SP said they wouldn't let the Ram temple be built, we said, 'Ram Lalla, hum aayenge, Mandir wahin banayenge'... And the Ram temple was built in Ayodhya... The world's largest temple dedicated to Lord Shri Ram has been completed in Ayodhya. Ram Lalla has been enthroned. Along with Ram Lalla, there is also Mother Janaki, Lord Ram, Bajrangbali, Lakshman Ji... The international airport in Ayodhya has been named after Maharishi Valmiki..."

On Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi's statement, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "This time, Gyanesh Kumar will have to answer. Will Bihar forgive him if he conducts elections as PM Modi's puppet? Bihar will not allow a vote chori. It is very surprising to hear such words from the Prime Minister of the country. No one has used such absurd language. This gun and 'Kanpatti' is their mentality, not Bihar's."

Bihar Dy CM Vijay Sinha said, "The government wants the respect, honour and prosperity of all Biharis."

On RJD chief Lalu Yadav's 'roti' post on 'X', he said, "Why is the post of RJD's national president not changed in Bihar? Only one convicted person has been the national president of RJD for years. There is no need to change him. They are not 'changing that roti on the pan', whose words and actions are contradictory, who has defamed Bihar by classifying it, who has made the word Bihari an abuse, then Bihar needs to be freed from such a person. As long as people like Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav remain, investors will not come, and our youth in Bihar will face limited employment opportunities. Therefore, this time, the people of Bihar will make Bihar RJD-Congress-free. Every Bihari will be proud. Now is the time, and the right time, to free themselves from those who abuse Biharis."

Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, "On 14th November, Rahul Gandhi will get an electric shock. Rahul Gandhi virtually selected the Congress candidates for Bihar, and this time, the people here will send him back to Italy. Kharge ji is not able to understand the pulse of the people... Be it Jairam Ramesh, Kharge ji, or Rahul Gandhi, this is change, and the change today has rejected the Mahagathbandhan. LJP Ramvilas Chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan said, "These people are seeing issues like SIR in which the government has no involvement. These people have always contested elections by spreading confusion. This has become a part of the opposition's strategy. When elections come, a false story is fabricated. Even during the Lok Sabha time, these people had said that reservations would be abolished. Today, more than a year and a quarter have passed, whose reservation has been taken away? This time, they are scaring people on SIR."

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's CM face Tejashwi Yadav said, "Today is the last day of the election campaign. The environment is very good. The people of Bihar have voted for change, and they will do the same on 11th November. Whether it is the Prime Minister or any other minister, no one is talking about the reservation we gave during our government for 17 months. The Prime Minister has eaten up the 65% reservation of the people. They should talk about what they gave to Bihar and Gujarat..."

Bihar Dy CM Samrat Chaudhary said, "Make NDA win so that the development works in Bihar continue. The people who have stolen people's money and resources all their lives, those who have looted the nation for 55 years, those who committed the fodder scam are accusing us of corruption... Whenever a reservation was introduced in the country, it happened with the support of the BJP... RJD has always opposed reservations. Lalu ji tore apart the Women's Reservation Bill..."

Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) Chief and Mahagathbandhan's Dy CM candidate, Mukesh Sahani said, "The youth wants change. People across castes, religions, and sections are supporting Mahagathbandhan. We will win more than 80 seats in the first phase. There is a wave of change in Bihar. There will be a definite change."

Supporters of RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav celebrated his birthday with enthusiasm outside his residence in Patna. They sang, danced, and raised slogans in his support, while posters proclaiming “Tejashwi Yadav, CM of Bihar” were also displayed outside his home.

Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, "Vote chori has been done clearly. 25 lakh votes have been stolen. Every one out of 8 votes has been stolen. After seeing the data, I believe the same has happened in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. This is a system of the BJP and the Election Commission. We have more evidence, and we will show it after some time. The main issue is vote chori and SIR is a system to cover it up and institutionalise."

RJD candidate Shamshad Alam has been booked for violating the Model Code of Conduct. According to District Magistrate Shri Naveen, Alam organised a procession rally without obtaining prior permission, during which participants allegedly raised abusive slogans.

On Bihar election Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We have faith in the people. We know where they get their data and figures from. Earlier as well, they gave a slogan of 400 paar and whatnot. But we have faith only in the people. People will do justice and decide what's best for them. Jungleraj and all these things are old issues. Why did they not end jungleraj in 20 years? Why didn't they push out infiltrators? This is a failure of the central government and the state government. I want to call out their double-engineered government for this failure."

Political parties will make their final push for votes today (November 9, 2025) at 6 pm, marking the last day of campaigning ahead of the second phase of polling scheduled for November 11. This phase will cover 122 assembly constituencies across the state, with the counting of votes set to take place on November 14.
