Bihar Minister Reviews Progress Of New PHED Headquarters, Emphasises Quality, Timely Completion

Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh has inspected the under-construction headquarters of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), emphasising the need for quality. Instructions have been issued to adhere to all standards in the construction of the building, which is being built at Rs 83,24,00,000.

Bihar Minister Reviews Progress Of New PHED Headquarters, Emphasises Quality, Timely Completion
Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh has inspected the under-construction headquarters of the Public Health Engineering Department.

On Friday, Minister for Public Health Engineering of Bihar, Sanjay Kumar Singh, conducted an on-site inspection of the new headquarters building for the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 83.24 crore. 

Senior officials present included Departmental Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, Special Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary Shri Nityanand Prasad, among others.

During the visit, the minister instructed a thorough review of the technical quality of all construction components. He stressed that the building is being designed to meet the department’s future needs, and strict adherence to construction standards is mandatory. “The strength and longevity of the building are our top priorities. There will be no compromise on quality at any level,” he said.

To ensure consistent monitoring, a special task force has been formed to track progress daily and take corrective measures whenever required. The contractor has also been directed to submit a weekly work plan to manage both the schedule and quality control systematically.

Minister Singh highlighted that, alongside the headquarters, the department is rapidly advancing the construction of regional, circle, division, and sub-division offices across the state. Focus is also being given to upgrading and building new water testing laboratories, which will enhance operational capacity and provide the public with more organised, reliable, and modern services.

Officials briefed the minister on the current status, technical requirements, and completion targets. The minister concluded by urging all agencies involved to ensure quality construction within deadlines, emphasising that transparency and efficiency remain the highest priorities in departmental projects.
