A newly married woman was caught with her boyfriend in an unpleasant situation by her in-laws in Bihar’s West Champaran district on her first night of marriage. The incident took place on Tuesday when the man accompanied the bride disguised as her brother after her farewell and reached her in-laws’ house.
On the first day after the marriage when all rituals were completed, the man who came along with the bride disguised as her brother insisted on sleeping in the bride’s room. The in-laws also agreed, thinking the man was the bride's brother. However, everyone was left shocked when the in-laws caught the bride and her boyfriend in a displeasing situation in the room.
Following the incident, the in-laws thrashed the man, enraged over his actions. In the midst of his commotion, they also shaved his head after brutally beating him.
According to information, the son of Shekhawat Hawari of Kujlahi village, Mustaq Hawari, was married to the daughter of a resident of Amwa Majhar on October 30. The wedding procession reached Kujlahi village on time and the wedding was also happily done. The lover of the bride, Angoor Hawari, reached her in-laws’ house as a brother with his girlfriend at the time of farewell after which the shocking incident occurred.
Meanwhile, the married woman expressed her displeasure over her marriage and insisted on staying with her boyfriend. A panchayat was called by senior members of Khanda Panchayat who resolved the matter by talking to both the bride and groom and their relatives in the presence of senior members of the panchayat.
The bride refused to accept the marriage and insisted on staying with her lover. After that, both parties completed the paperwork and the bride returned to her parents’ house.
