Bihar News: In a major update for the commuters, the Bihar government has informed that the Patna-Aurangabad-Hariharganj Road will be converted into a four-lane road. While providing details, Road and Transport Minister Dilip Jaiswal stated that the decision was taken after receiving requests from the passengers and local authorities. He further stated that the widening of the road will provide relief to thousands of passengers by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion.
While providing details, Jaiswal stated that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for the project. The road is crucial for the southern districts of Bihar, as it connects them with the capital city, Patna. Along with boosting the regional connectivity, the widening of the road will also improve the financial activities in these regions.
The minister further stated that the centre has agreed to widen the road, adding that a DPR will be prepared in the upcoming days. He asserted that several expansion projects will be announced in the upcoming months to boost the regional connectivity in the state. The widening of the existing roads and construction of new ones will also give a boost to the financial activities and will generate employment opportunities.
Apart from this, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has also announced a high-speed corridor road from Raiganj via Barsoi to Mor village in Kishanganj. In an official order number, the authority has asked a construction company based in Gurugram to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the project.

The national highway will directly connect key areas of Bengal and Bihar, increasing regional traffic connectivity and employment opportunities. According to a report by Jagran.com, the road has been a long-standing demand of Raiganj MP Kartik Chandra Pal.
