The Indian Railway has implemented a special scheme allowing passengers and employees at railway stations to have access to 16 types of medical checkups at a nominal fee. To ensure this, Health ATMs will be installed at stations across the country, with the facility already in effect at major locations.
The scheme is now being implemented at several other stations, including Bhagalpur and Jamalpur, in the Malda Railway Division, Bihar. The Railway Department has issued a letter in this regard. Along with this, a plan has been approved to open hair-cutting salons, mobile accessories counters, a massage centre near the second-class waiting hall, along with Electric chairs for massages.

Train operations are improving in North India due to relief from fog and increased visibility due to sunshine. For the past several days, trains, including the Vikramshila Express, Janseva Express, Garib Rath Express, and others, have been running hours late. The Vikramshila Express from Delhi was arriving six to eight hours late until three days ago, but its operations have improved in the past two days.
While the train arrived ahead of its scheduled time on Sunday, it arrived just three minutes late on Monday. The Garib Rath Express, which had been running 12 to 16 hours late, has also seen improvement. On Monday, the train was running just one hour behind its scheduled time. The Brahmaputra Mail also ran one and a half hours late.
On Monday, the Farakka Express also arrived a few minutes late. The Janseva Express arrived in Bhagalpur on time. Trains arriving here on Tuesday are also reported to be running on time. The Sairang Rajdhani was delayed by more than two hours.
In this regard, an official from the Malda Operating Department stated that the reduction in fog in northern India has led to improved train operations on that route. Visibility has increased due to sunshine during the day. He added that the Board is also closely monitoring train movements.
Now, while travelling by train, passengers will neither feel jolts when the brakes are applied nor vibrations when the train speeds increase. Efforts are underway on a war footing to make the rail lines of all sections of Eastern Railway, including Sahibganj-Bhagalpur-Kiul and Bhagalpur-Dumka, jerk-free.
Almost all long-distance rail lines will now be fully high-speed-friendly. To achieve this, the railway is increasing the number of sleepers beneath the tracks under a new project and replacing old coupling systems. This change will also impact train speed and safety, making passenger journeys more comfortable than before.
