Bihar Road Accident: Speeding Truck Crushes Auto On Bihta-Arrah Highway; 6 Dead, 2 Injured

An auto-rickshaw carrying members of the same family returning from the Maner Urs fair was struck by an out-of-control truck on the Bihta-Arrah road. Six people died at the scene in the tragic accident, while two others were seriously injured. The deceased include a three-year-old girl and an 18-month-old boy. Police have arrested the truck driver and launched an investigation.

Early on Sunday morning, an out-of-control truck forcefully collided with an auto-rickshaw carrying people returning home after visiting the Maner Urs Mela (a religious fair). The incident is reported to have occurred on the Bihta-Arrah main road, near Lekhan Tola in Parev.

In the tragic accident, the auto-rickshaw was completely destroyed. Half a dozen people travelling in the auto-rickshaw died at the scene, while two others were seriously injured. Chaos ensued at the site following the incident. Bihta police arrived at the scene with a team, took custody of the bodies and admitted the injured to hospital for treatment. The police have also seized the truck, arrested the driver and initiated an investigation into the matter.

All Occupants Of The Auto-Rickshaw Were From The Same Family

The deceased have been identified as 33-year-old Guddu Kumar, 30-year-old Mohd Imtiaz alias Bulle and 22-year-old Mohd Sahzad, all residents of Chik Toli in Arrah, Bhojpur; along with Shafna, the three-year-old daughter and Mohd Asfi, the one-and-a-half-year-old son of Mohd Shahzad from Daulatpur. Another person died during treatment.

According to sources, all occupants of the auto-rickshaw are said to be from the same family. They were all returning home to Arrah on Sunday morning after visiting the Urs Mela at the Maner Dargah (shrine). On the way, near Lekhan Tola, the out-of-control, high-speed truck coming from the direction of Arrah violently struck the auto-rickshaw.
