Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts are likely to witness cold waves and dense fog at least till December 25. The minimum temperature in the southern districts is further set to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the upcoming days. While the weather is not likely to significantly change in the next three to four days, the temperature is likely to surge from the first week of January. The weather department has advised the district administration to take necessary steps, further advising the residents to limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Cold Wave Alert In THESE Districts
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Buxar, Bhojpur, Bhabhua, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal, and Gaya, are set to witness dense fog in the upcoming days. The capital city, Patna, is also likely to witness fog, especially in the morning hours. The presence of fog is likely to reduce the visibility, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. While the maximum temperature of Patna was calculated at 16.8 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained around 12.5 degrees Celsius.
Apart from this, the IMD also stated that the southern districts, including Patna, will remain colder than the northern regions. The maximum temperature slightly increased in 16 districts on Sunday, providing minor relief to the commuters. The weather department informed that the minimum temperature in the state ranged between 8 degrees Celsius and 14.1 degrees Celsius.
Earlier on Sunday, the temperature in Patna and other districts, including Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnea, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Motihari, Madhepura, and Samastipur, was recorded below 20 degrees Celsius. Apart from Bihar, several other northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, are also set to witness dense fog and cold waves for the next few days.
