Muzaffarpur has ranked first in the country for submitting the most innovative ideas for the Inspire Award, with Bengaluru Urban coming in second. The national district rankings for the award, a program run by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology, were released on Friday.

For the first time, Muzaffarpur secured the top position with 7,403 innovative ideas submitted by students. Another Bihar district, Vaishali, also made it to the top ten, ranking sixth with 5,805 submissions. The Inspire Award scheme aims to foster creativity and innovation among students from classes six to ten by encouraging them to present original ideas. Selected students receive financial aid to build models of their ideas and participate in national-level competitions.

This achievement is the result of a concerted two-month effort in Muzaffarpur, where headteachers and science teachers in all government and private schools held special classes to guide students. Under the leadership of the District Education Officer, nodal officers were appointed at block and district levels to monitor the program's progress daily.
