Mokama Election Result 2025 Live Updates: Anant Singh Wins For Fourth Time, Sweeps RJD's Veena Devi By More Than 25,000 Votes

Anant Singh of the Janata Dal (United) has clinched a decisive victory in Mokama. The JDU candidate has secured 91,416 votes against 63,210 votes of RJD's candidate Veena Devi. Jan Suraaj Party's Piyush Priyadarshi came third with 19,365 votes.   

JDU candidate Anant Singh is comfortably placed ahead of RJD candidate Veena Kumari by a margin of over 28,130 votes. 

Anant Kumar Singh of Janata Dal (United) continues to dominate the electoral race of Mokama with 85,975 votes, leading by 24,798 votes over Veena Devi of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, who has 61,177 votes. 

Priyadarshi Piyush of the Jan Suraaj Party trails significantly with 16,105 votes. With just three rounds remaining, Singh appears poised for a decisive victory.

After the counting of the twenty-first round of votes, JDU's Anant Singh is on his way to a big win in the Mokama Assembly Constituency with a margin of 22,539 votes. RJD's Veena Devi is in the second place with 57,410 votes.    

JDU Candidate Anant Singh is on his way towards a comfortable victory in Mokama Assembly Constituency, securing 73,111 votes against RJD's Veena Devi, who has secured 51,429 votes. 

JDU's Anant Singh leads by over 17,000 votes after the seventeenth round of counting of votes in the Mokama Assembly constituency, securing 63,692 votes. RJD's Veena Devi is trailing, bagging 46,642 votes, while JSP's Piyush Priyadarshi has secured 10,860 votes. 

JDU's Anant Singh leads after the fourteenth round of counting by over 15,000 votes.

- JDU: Anant Singh - 52,202 votes 

- RJD: Veena Devi - 36,887 votes 

- JSP: Piyush Priyadarshi - 9,629 votes

After the eleventh round of counting, JDU's Anant Singh leads by over 13,000 votes against RJD's Veena Devi. 

The atmosphere in Mokama has become more like a cinematic climax, even before the results of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are out. JDU candidate and strongman leader Anant Singh may be in jail, but the enthusiasm of his supporters shows no signs of waning. Large posters have been put up in several areas of Mokama, clearly stating, "The jail gates will be broken, our lion will be released."

This clearly shows that the supporters are directly indicating that even though Netaji is behind bars, his dominance in the electoral battle still remains intact.

JDU Candidate leads in Mokama Assembly Constituency by over 12,249 votes, securing 37,752 votes. RJD's Veena Devi secured 25,503 votes.  

The NDA currently leads in 182 seats while the MGB leads in 56 seats.

Under the Prime Minister's leadership, the country has witnessed a new kind of development-oriented politics since 2014. With a landslide victory in all three Lok Sabha elections, led by the Prime Minister, the NDA also made inroads in Delhi, establishing its credibility as a government. In this same sequence, state elections are approaching for the third time, and Bihar has joined the same chain, following previously in Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, and now Bihar. This indicates that a wave of good governance is blowing under the Prime Minister's leadership. I congratulate Prime Minister Modi, HM Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and the entire NDA alliance."

RJD's Veena Devi narrows the margin to 9,665 votes against JDU candidate Anant Singh.

- JDU: Anant Singh- 32,552

- RJD: Veena Devi- 22,887 

- JSP: Piyush Priyadarshi: 7,128  

Anant Singh leads by 11,276 votes, securing 29,535 votes against RJD's Veena Devi, who secured 18,259 votes after the eighth round of counting.   

JDU candidate Anant Singh leads by 7,993 votes against RJD's Veena Devi.

JDU candidate Anant Singh maintains his stronghold by extending the lead to 5,546 votes after the fifth round of voting.

- JDU- Anant Singh: 19,524 

- RJD- Veena Devi: 13,978 

JDU candidate Anant Singh extends the lead to 2031 votes in Mokama after the fourth round of counting.

JDU candidate leads by 1,855 votes, bagging 8,057 votes after the second round. RJD's Veena Devi gets 6,202 votes after the second round. 

JD(U)'s Anant Singh leads by over 2,716 votes as the counting of Round 1 is underway. RJD's Veena Devi trails with 1,808 votes after the counting of votes in Round 1. Jan Suraaj Party's Piyush Priyadarshi comes third with 262 votes.

Celebrations have begun at the residence of the JD(U) candidate Anant Singh, who is leading in the Mokama Assembly Seat in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.

Litti Chokha, Rasgulla and other items are being prepared at the residence of the RJD candidate Veena Devi in Mokama as counting began at 8 am. Veena Devi is contesting against JDU's Anant Kumar Singh and Jan Suraaj's Priyadarshi Piyush from the Mokama assembly seat.

An Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is an electronic device used for recording votes for all Parliamentary and state legislature elections. The EVM consists of two units:

• Control Unit

• Balloting Unit

Both these units are joined by a five-meter cable. The Control Unit is placed with the Presiding Officer or a Polling Officer and the Balloting Unit is placed inside the voting compartment. Instead of issuing a ballot paper, the Polling Officer in charge of the Control Unit will release a ballot by pressing the Ballot Button on the Control Unit. This will enable the voter to cast his vote by pressing the blue button on the Balloting Unit against the candidate and symbol of his choice.

The counting of votes will start from 8 AM, with the results to be announced by evening. In the counting process, usually, postal ballots are counted in the beginning, followed by the EVM. 

A historically strong seat for the Bhumihars, Mokama has traditionally oscillated between the power dynamics between the Bahubalis. This time also, the contest is evenly poised between the two strongmen of the seat, Surajbhan Singh and Anant Kumar Singh. According to the latest ECI data (as of January 2024), there are 2.9 lakh registered voters. This is spread across the following castes: 

• Bhumihars: Around 55,000–60,000

• Yadavs: Around 40,000

• Dhanuks (Koeris): Around 45,000

• Muslims and Dalits: Approximately 30 per cent of the electorate. 

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly election, Anant Kumar Singh, contesting as an Independent, secured 78,721 votes, which was about 53 per cent of all valid votes cast in Mokama. The victory affirmed his influence among sections of the Bhumihar community, which forms a significant part of the constituency’s voter base.

Anant Singh, representing the RJD at the Mokama Vidhan Sabha seat, secured a dominant win, getting 78,721 votes (52.99 per cent). JD(U) had fielded Rajeev Lochan Narayan Singh who got 42,964 votes (28.92 per cent). LJP's Suresh Singh Nishad finished third with 13,331 votes (8.97 per cent).

In the previous Bihar Assembly polls, Anant Singh won the seat as an independent candidate, gathering 54,005 votes (37.35 per cent). He successfully overcame the challenge from JDU's Neeraj Kumar, who trailed with 35,657 votes (24.66 per cent). The third-place finisher was Lalan Singh of JAP(L), who received 16,655 votes (11.52 per cent).

The voter turnout in Mokama Assembly Election stood at 64.77 per cent while the overall voter turnout was 66.91 per cent, a record in the electoral history of Bihar. The turnout in the first phase was 65.08 per cent, which was a record in itself, and was then surpassed by the figure for the second phase, which was 68.76 per cent. The overall turnout has increased by 9.62 per cent compared to the 2020 Assembly elections, when it was 57.29 per cent.
