In preparation for Durga Puja celebrations, several city roads across Muzaffarpur will become one-way and vehicular movement will be restricted on key routes from September 30 to October 2. The administration has issued a detailed route plan to ensure smooth traffic flow during the festival.

Key points of the traffic plan include:

-Existing one-way traffic rules will continue where already in force.

-Vehicles will be allowed from Maheshbabu Chowk towards Juranchhapra, but movement in the opposite direction will be prohibited. Similarly, certain routes from the Collectorate Residence via Maripur Bridge and Maheshbabu Chowk will only allow one-way traffic.

-Temporary barricades near the Mithanpura water tank will allow VIPs, officials, and police access to Devi Mandir as needed.

-Barricades will restrict access to the Devi Mandir from Harisabha Chowk, Mukherjee Seminary School Road, LIC Lane, Women’s Hostel Road, and Rajju Sah Lane. Entry to the temple will be on foot only.

-Motorcycles, rickshaws, and other vehicles will have limited access along designated points such as Chhoti Kalyani Amar Cinema, Mithanpura, and Pani Tanki Chowk, with parking provided at Zila School.

-Certain major roads, including Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Sutapatti/Bank Road, Zero Mile, Akharaghat Road, and South Gola Bandha Road, will have movement restrictions for passenger vehicles, except for essential services.

-Bus routes will also be adjusted: buses from Imlichatti government bus stand will access the NH via Maripur and Gobarsahi railway crossing, while buses from other districts will follow alternative routes to reach Bairiya Bus Stand.

-Temporary barricades will be placed at key points, including Kacchi Pakki Chowk, Ramdayalu railway crossing, Gobarsahi Chowk, Power House Chowk, Bairiya Golambar, Zero Mile, Pakki Sarai Chowk, Mithanpura Chowk, and the northern part of Akharaghat.
