The atmosphere turned emotional during the "Aapke Dwar Janta Darbar" (Public Court at Your Doorstep) program held at the Town Police Station premises on Saturday when Kanhaiya Prasad, a 75-year-old resident of Yaduvanshi Nagar, arrived with his grievance.

He pleaded, "SP Sir, please get me justice. My son beat me and threw me out of the house, forcing me to live in a rented accommodation." The elderly man, a retired government servant surviving on a pension, stated that his son had evicted him from his own home, compelling him to reside in a rented house in Shanti Nagar. Upon hearing the elderly man's plight, SP Raj immediately ordered the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) to register an FIR.

SP Resolves Multiple Grievances

This was the second day of the Janta Darbar organized at the police station level by the SP. The Police Captain was present at the Town Police Station from 11:00 AM. During this time, more than half a dozen people arrived with their complaints, with the majority of cases related to family and land disputes. Town SHO Devraj Rai, along with other junior officers, was present throughout the session.

Several other cases were heard:

- Narayan Prasad of Rui Gali brought up a land dispute involving his brothers. The SP directed that all three brothers be summoned to the station to take steps toward resolving the dispute.

- Sharda Jain of Mahadeva Road alleged that her son had withdrawn money from her account. The SP ordered an investigation into this complaint.

- Advocate Durgesh Nandan Verma of Paschim Tola reported that the opposing party in a case was violating a court order. The SP directed officers to investigate and take appropriate action.

- Devnath Singh of Nala More stated that his grandson assaults him under the influence of alcohol. He mentioned that while the police had sent the grandson to jail, he had come to request that the grandson not be allowed to return to the house.

- Juli Devi of Ramgarhiya complained about being assaulted by her brother-in-law. The SP ordered an immediate probe.

- Mansha Devi of Mahadeva reported that her tenant was not paying outstanding rent. The SP advised her to approach the court for this civil matter.

Action On Traffic And Civic Issues

During the Janta Darbar, the SP also discussed local issues with the present Ward Councilors and their representatives. Mayor representative Alok Ranjan suggested strict implementation of one-way traffic rules on Mirganj Road and fixing specific timings for vegetable unloading in Gola Bazar to alleviate traffic jams.

Ward member Munna Mahto reported that fish and vegetable shops set up near Dharhara Bridge in the morning and evening are causing difficulties for commuters and increasing the risk of accidents. Acting on these complaints, the SP immediately called the Traffic DSP and issued instructions for action.

Ward Councilor Ranjit Singh complained about the gathering of anti-social elements near Majhanwa School and the Marutinagar area. In response, the SP directed the concerned police station and the Dial 112 team to increase surveillance. Approximately a dozen councilors attended the Janta Darbar, during which the Police Captain was also honored.
