Patna NEET Aspirant Death: In a major development in invesgation into the NEET student's death case, the Forensic test of the victim’s clothes confirmed the presence of semen on her undergarment, revealed police. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of a NEET aspirant staying at a girls’ hostel in Chitragupta Nagar, Patna, received the forensic biological report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Saturday.

The victim’s family had handed over some of her garments for a forensic test on January 10. The test found traces of human sperm on one of the undergarments allegedly worn by the girl at the time of the incident.

The FSL is now preparing the DNA profile from the sample to match it with the DNA of the arrested accused as well as other suspects identified by the SIT during the investigation.

Two Police Officials Suspended In Patna Student’s Death Case

Meanwhile, two police officers, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hemant Jha (Additional Officer-in-Charge, Kadamkuan) and Assistant Sub-Inspector Roshni Kumari (Station House Officer, Chitragupta Nagar), have been placed under immediate suspension for alleged negligence in intelligence gathering and timely action in the case.

Earlier on Saturday, a doctor’s statement surfaces on media reports, stating that SIT has sent the post-mortem report to AIIMS for a second opinion, along with the treating doctor’s statement and other medical documents. The SIT is awaiting the full report from the medical board, which will examine every detail before giving its final opinion.

Post-Mortem Suspected Sexual Assault With Deceased

The initial post-mortem report had already stated that sexual assault on the student cannot be ruled out. With the FSL report now in hand, investigators are also closely examining the timeline: when the girl last visited her village in Jehanabad, when she returned to the Patna hostel, and the exact time and hospital where she was brought in an unconscious state.

The SIT has reviewed CCTV footage from Patna Junction to the hostel, as well as every minute of footage inside the hostel from the time she entered her room until she was taken out unconscious. The team also visited her village in Jehanabad for three to four days.

Investigators are probing why the student searched for suicide-related terms and sleeping pills on her mobile phone, and why traces of sleeping medication were found in her urine. All these angles are under active scrutiny.
