Patna residents are increasingly enjoying the double-decker bus service operating on the JP Ganga Path, which has also emerged as a popular choice for celebrating birthdays and special occasions. The bus can be booked on a rental basis at a cost of Rs 4,000 for a one-and-a-half-hour trip.
According to the Bihar Tourism Development Corporation, more than 4,000 tourists availed of the double-decker bus service between September and January. The bus operates from Digha Ghat on JP Ganga Path to Kangan Ghat in Patna City, offering passengers scenic views and a pleasant breeze along the riverfront while showcasing the city’s historical landmarks.
The service runs daily from 5 pm to 10 pm and has a seating capacity of 40 passengers, with 20 seats each on the lower and upper decks. The air-conditioned bus is equipped with modern amenities, including a restroom, refrigerator, and an onboard guide.
The guide provides information about prominent landmarks along the route, including JP Ganga Path Golambar, Sabhyata Dwar, Darbhanga House, Gandhi Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Chitragupta Mandir, and Kangan Ghat.
For regular commuters and tourists, the fare is fixed at Rs 50 per person for a one-way journey and Rs 100 for a round trip.
