Union Budget 2026 Allocates Funds For 8th Pay Commission
In the 2026 Union Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a provision of Rs 23.42 crore for the establishment and functioning of the 8th Pay Commission in the 2026-27 financial year. Of this amount, Rs 21.32 crore will go towards revenue expenditure, while Rs 2.10 crore has been allocated for capital expenses.
These funds will be used to set up the Commission, hire staff, establish office facilities, conduct research, and cover necessary administrative costs. Importantly, this budget allocation is intended solely for the operational setup of the Commission and will not be used for salary increases at this stage.
