Gold Rate Today: The prices of precious metals- Gold and Silver- fell marginally on the first day of the New Year 2026. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the future gold (February 5 expiry) slipped around Rs 400 per 10 grams, while Silver (March 5 expiry) dipped over Rs 1,800 in the early trading.
At around 11:13 am, the MCX silver was trading at Rs 2,34,849.0 per kilogram (KG), down 852 or 0.36 per cent. MCX Gold was at 1,35,249 per 10 grams, falling Rs 205 or 0.15 per cent.
During the morning trade, the MCX gold fell Rs 453 to hit an intraday low at Rs 1,35,001 against the previous session's closing of Rs 1,35,454 per 10 grams (at around above given time). Meanwhile, the Silver price on MCX dipped Rs 1,851 to hit the day's low of 2,33,850 as compared to last day's closing of Rs 2,35,701.
Gold Rate In India Today (January 1, 2026)
According to All India Gem And Jewellery Domestic Council (gjc.org.in), the standard selling rate of 24 carat gold in the Indian retail market today is Rs 1,35,500 per 10 grams. While 22-carat, it is Rs 1,24,200.
As per the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the 24-carat gold price closed at Rs 1,32,662 per 10 grams on December 31 evening, while the 22-carat gold price settled at Rs 1,22,007 per 10 grams.
Meanwhile, the Silver price was at Rs 2,30,420. The above retail market prices are exempt from GST and other charges.
