Big changes are taking place behind the scenes in Indian cricket. After fielding coach T Dilip and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate left the national team setup, more members of the support staff could soon come under scrutiny.
According to a report by The Times of India, the focus has now shifted to the team’s fitness and medical department following a series of injuries that have disrupted India’s plans in recent months.

Several players, including Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy, have struggled with fitness issues. Injuries to key players have repeatedly forced the team management to change combinations, with India’s recent defeats in England and Ireland highlighting the problem even further.
The report claims that head physiotherapist Kamlesh Jain, who joined the Indian team in 2022 after replacing Nitin Patel, is likely to receive feedback from the team management regarding the handling of player injuries.
It also states that captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir are unhappy with the growing number of fitness setbacks, which have made it difficult to field their strongest playing XI.
A source quoted in the report said the issue is no longer just about injuries but also about player management.
The source also questioned whether some players returned too early from injuries.
T Dilip Shares Heartfelt Goodbye
Meanwhile, former India fielding coach T Dilip shared an emotional message after officially leaving the national team.
Dilip, who joined the Indian setup in November 2021, completed nearly five years with the side. His contract was not renewed after India’s T20I tour of Zimbabwe, and Subhadeep Ghosh has now taken over as the new fielding coach ahead of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Dilip reflected on his journey with the Indian team.
As India prepares for an important Test series against Sri Lanka, the spotlight is now firmly on the team’s fitness management, with more reviews of the support staff expected in the coming weeks.
