The Annual General Meetings (AGM) of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) are set to unfold over the next two days in Bali, Indonesia on January 31 to decide the direction of Asian cricket in the upcoming years.
The AGM will see the participation of all ACC members, including the presence of Jay Shah, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary.
The prime agenda that will be on focus is the broadcast rights of the ACC, with the Asia Cup being the focal point. The ACC rights might attract competitive bidding considering the popularity of the Asia Cup over the years. Disney Star currently holds the broadcasting right for the past eight years.

Another decision on the table is the venue for the upcoming Asia Cup. According to Cricbuzz, the tournament is expected to be in the Twenty20 format, and potential hosts include the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.
The last Asia Cup followed a hybrid model, jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka after India decided not to play their matches in Pakistan. There's a bit of uncertainty regarding whether Associate members can host the championship, given a clause stating it should be held in a Full Member Asian nation.
UAE has hosted the event twice, in 2018 and 2022, even though India and Sri Lanka were the designated organisers, again due to political tensions between India and Pakistan.

While the official agenda does not list elections, discussions around the leadership may unfold during the meeting. Currently holding the position of ACC president, Jay Shah's continuation in the role may be influenced by his purported shift to the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman position, an independent post.
Shah, amid his second two-year term, awaits the outcome of the ACC meeting for indications on various leadership roles in world cricket. The ICC chairman elections are slated for November.
