Ashes 2026: The host have revealed their 15-member team for the 5th Test against England, which will be held in Sydney later this week. After winning this series by 3-1, Australia have now revealed an unchanged team.

Pat Cummins will again be giving this Test match a miss as Steve Smith will lead the team in his absence. Cummins, who didn't play the first two matches owing to a lower back injury, led the hosts in the third Test match, which they won and also retained the Ashes. But the team management chose to give Cummins some rest to manage his workload so that he is fit to play in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

Usman Khawaja is also a part of this team, even though speculations are rife about his Test retirement. He started this series by playing as an opener, but then was pushed down the order as Travis Head was performing well as an opener. He had scored 153 runs after playing in three matches at an average of 30.60, and his highest score was 50 in Adelaide. Andrew McDonald, who is the head coach of Australia, has all but revealed that Khawaja will be a part of the playing XI.

But there is no certainty around Cameron Green's participation, as he has struggled with the bat and hasn't smashed a 50 yet. At the same time, Beau Webster will be rejoining the team after playing in the Big Bash League for a while.

“We know we’ve got a quality player sitting there waiting. We’ve got a batting order that we’d like to think can function at a higher capacity, so we’ll be having conversations leading into Sydney,” McDonald told cricket.com.au.

At the same time, the host will try to end this series on a high note, losing a Test match to England for the first time after 15 years. They are leading the series by 3-1 and will aim to win the last match as well.
