Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed Sahil Parakh (0) in the first over, triggering the collapse. Josh Hazlewood struck in the next, dismissing KL Rahul (1) and Sameer Rizvi (0). In the third, Bhuvneshwar returned to remove Tristan Stubbs (5) and Axar Patel (0). Josh Hazlewood also picked off Nitish Rana in the fourth. At 3.5 overs, the score was 8/6. DC could be bowled out for the lowest-ever IPL score.
DC scored 13/6 in the Powerplay. This is only the second time in IPL history that a team has lost six wickets inside tPowerplay in a non-rain-curtailed game. Previously, Kochi Tuskers Kerala slumped to 29/6 against Deccan Chargers in IPL 2011. Both times, this happened on April 27th.

RCB won the toss and chose to field against Delhi Capitals in the 39th match of IPL 2026 on Monday. The match is at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
After the toss, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar explained the choice. He said conditions are expected to help batting, especially in the second innings under lights.

We will bowl first. This venue is high-scoring so that it won't make much difference. We aim to apply pressure in the second innings. Different players are stepping up in different matches. We have played good cricket, and we want to maintain our momentum. The past doesn't matter; we aim to play good cricket.
After the match, Capitals captain Axar Patel discussed the conditions. He noted the small ground and a pitch that improves for batting as the game goes on.
If I had won the toss, I would have fielded. The small ground and improving pitch favored chasing. In the IPL, you might score 264 and still lose. It’s a long tournament. We performed well with both bat and ball. If we had held on to our chances, the result would have been different.
