GT vs CSK, IPL 2023 Highlights: Gujarat Hold Nerve To Beat Chennai By 5 Wickets

Rahul Tewatia finishes off in style as Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

This is scintillating batting from Rashid Khan. This is Gujarat's game to lose now. GT need 8 off 6 balls as Tushar Deshpande to bowl the final over.

This is a big wicket in the context of the game. Vijay Shankar, who was looking set to finish the game, is back in the hut. Hangargekar bowls a good over. GT need 19 off 10 balls.

Despite losing Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans are cruising in this chase. With 6 wickets remaining, they will certainly back themselves to chase 34 off 24 balls.

Big wicket for Chennai Super Kings as captain Hardik Pandya falls cheaply. Even though required run-rate is under control, this wicket can prove fatal for the chasing side. GT need 68 off 47 balls.

Shubman Gill is banking on his brilliant batting form. The current run-rate is above 10 as he is complimented well by Sai Sudharsan from the other end.

After a brisk start, Saha departs courtesy of a good catch by Shivam Dube at deep third man. Youngster Rajvardhan Hangargekar gets his first wicket. Sai Sudharsan will bat as an impact player in place of an injured Kane Williamson.

Steady start for Gujarat Titans as Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha have looked in great touch ever since they walked in.

Due to MS Dhoni's blitz in the end, CSK finish on 178 for 7 at the end of 20 overs.

Can Rashid Khan get Ruturaj Gaikwad out of the equation here? The best batter in the Chennai line-up in this innings. Run out on the cards! Gaikwad just survives.

OUT! Big wicket as Ben Stokes edges one to the ever-so-reliant Wriddhiman Saha. The current run-rate is at 9 runs per over which is quite healthy by any standards.

As the powerplay comes to an end, Chennai will be satisfied with the score they have reached. A set Ruturaj Gaikwad can be a nightmare for the opposition and with Ben Stokes in the line-up, you can expect fireworks later on.

SIX! Second big maximum of the match. Chennai are finally getting into the groove with back to back boundaries. Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad are playing it nicely against the Gujarat bowlers.

First blood to Mohammed Shami. A peach of a delivery from the pacer just went through Devon Conway's stumps. Moeen Ali is the new batter.

MS Dhoni at the toss: Were also looking to bowl. Looks a good wicket and I don't think it will change. Don't know if there will be dew because it rained last night. You want to play in front of people. This stadium is twice the capacity of other stadiums. Fantastic atmohsphere. Preparation was good. We assembled quite early. It's a luxury to have (impact player). It becomes slightly easy to take the decision because you can use it at any time. Influence of allrounder has become slightly less because of the rule.

Hardik Pandya at the toss: We'll bowl first. It's always good to play here. New start, new season, quite exciting. Almost everyone in the country has got motivation from him (Dhoni). Been a fan and admirer of him. Want boys to enjoy it. Result will take care of itself.

Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Both MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya are in the middle for the toss. As per the pitch report, it has a nice coverage of mild grass which will force both skippers to think about what to do exactly.
