IND vs ENG: India have maintained an unbeaten record in home test series since 2012. However, it was England only who halted India's home dominance 12 years ago, securing a 2-1 victory. Former England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar played a crucial role in that series.
As India gears up to face England in their first home series of the World Test Championship cycle 2023-25, the Ben Stokes-led side will aim to challenge India's formidable home streak with their distinctive 'Bazball' style of play.
With just three losses in 46 games at home since 2013, England will have a mountain to climb to surmount India off their pedestal. Panesar, who played 50 Tests and claimed 167 wickets for England, highlighted the hurdles awaiting the Three Lions in the upcoming series.

Panesar emphasised the attacking nature of Indian batters against the turning ball, describing them as more fearless. Identifying the key player for India, he labelled Rohit Sharma as the 'Don Bradman of turning pitches,' emphasising his strong home record.
“Indian batters are attacking against the turning ball. They are a bit more fearless. The key man for India is going to be Rohit Sharma. He's the Don Bradman of turning pitches. His record is unbelievable. England have to get Rohit out early right through to have a chance of winning the Test series," Hindustan Times quoted Panesar as saying.
"If England can keep Rohit quiet, India will be going to Plan B. You then put the younger batters under pressure. That is going to be key,” he added.
Rohit Sharma boasts an impressive record in India, amassing 2002 runs from 36 innings at an average of 66.73, including eight centuries and six half-centuries. However, his recent form in South Africa raised concerns, managing only 61 runs in four innings with an average of 20.3.
The much-anticipated 5-match test series between India and England is set to commence on January 25 in Hyderabad.
